Well, I really like the few wood tanks I have seen, but I just don't feel I have the skill to do it. After all we are looking at an 8' x 3' piece, and that is a lot of water pressure.

Not to so I won't attempt it though! :D I also have a good friend that is a master craftsman, so he could do it to my specs. but that is still a risky proposition.

What's the worst thing that could possibly happen...you have to drill a 3" hole in the side and fit it with a huge, ugly bulkhead?

ouch. 4.5" BTW. But the real issue is how to design the wood structure to support that pressure. I have thought about building it like a boat, with fiberglass on all sides.

Have you seen the build thread in the fingerlakes forum? I can't remember the size of the tank, but it was BIG!

BTW...the BH was 4.5"...the hole was only 3". That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.

It's late and the meds are kicking in. Now...where did I leave that bottle of agave?

Just making sure YOU were paying attention! ;)

2x6 in front, frame all the sides and bottom 2x4, center 3" x 6"eurobrace powder coated metal. inside would be fiberglass mating w/resin. if time wasn't an issue, i would build my own display.

we are bringing online an entirely new web cart system integrated into our POS system in our store. I am going to have to do about 12,000 web descriptions and photos for our web cart, so that is going to put my brain into a coma. hmmmm...maybe I should pay someone to do that crap?

I would definately have someone else do that mindless work. You should also prioritize what order they tackle it. Focus on the top 10% of your products, which probably account for 90% of your sales.

Jeff: Thanks for the link. Sure are some big ones going in over there. I will read through it and see what's up. In one thread regarding a 6000g shark lagoon, the first question was whether to use OSB...I think that would be a big mistake!

Bart: This is why I did the bulkhead repair...to gove me more time.

Ed: Thanks for the advice. I have been mulling over the priority list in my head for a month now. Maybe get a couple of college kids to do it?

I am trying to get some crap done early so I can go visit a fellow reefer and drink with Sherman this afternnon.

don't start drinking too early, Jon. You may not be in a proper enough of a state to scrape coralline tonight :D

I have to clean the skimmer too, and I really need some alcohol for that job. Up to my freakin' pits in fish poo.

Looking forward to that Jonathan. Ryan got suspended from school for 20 days this morning. I am very surprised at my level of calm and I haven't laid a hand on him, yet...

My tank is looking pretty good and I think I'm about over the cyano problem but there is still a little of it left. I pulled the frag rack out a few days back.

Stupid kid doesn't know what he's in for. You can blow off some steam at my place. I'll come by when I get a chance to break away. Got to hit the bank, etc. and I really want to crack that JW Lees.

Are you ready for an SPS?

I don't think I'm going SPS with this tank. LPS, zoo's and a few softies will suffice. I picked up some nice LPS (a few acans and favia) but UPS took two days to deliver. I don't know if they are going to make it.

hmmmm...well I can slide you some zoas eh? Are you going to Kevin's? If not, I need to bring him some Ice Gel.
