OK! Enough chat...Starting a 1000g+ Reef

I don't know how I lost this thread!?! I just suddenly realized I hadn't seen it in months. Trying to find the end I realized you have had 6 splits. That's almost up to Marc's.

I laughed reading about the Clown even though I had my wisdom teeth out today! Sorry, but I do take pleasure in other people's pain. :D

Hey Gabriel...good to see you around. Love that teeth pullin'. Not much in this world more fun than that!

I haven't been too active on this thread due to busy life stuff. Not much happening with my reef other than moderate growth and no catastrophies for what, 30+ days?

And I think I lost marc's thread to be honest. I can't recall the last time I was on it. Seems there is a lot of thread lost things going on among the peopel I know on RC. It's tough to keep up on things when a site gets so damn big. I can't even imagine what kind of bandwidth RC uses.

Anyway, I hope things are going well for you guys. I love the Dodge Brothers shot on your site. Very nicely done. I have a buddy that makes his living photographing and reviewing cars. He is also the Editor of MC2, a Mini magazine.

Here you go, Jonathan. It is page one (of 10) of the current split, and it has a decent update on that page. Plus tons of pictures since then.

Nice recap and recovery from the Vit. C incident. I thought you had air circulating thorugh the tank room from the outside as well, which should keep the CO2 levels in the room down enough.

I cannot believe you wash your cuting board off in your tank when making fish food. That seems counter-intuitive to me.

That thing with "ourpetclub" is rediculous. They aren't even smart enough to remove your photo credit, but tell me, why would an Arabic site publish your English pages?

Your tank is looking good BTW. Very nice mixed reef.

Since everything I use is clean, I don't mind using it nor rinsing it off in the tank. It only happens every few months, so I'm not overly concerned. I know you triple rinse away everything, while I dump it all in. :D

Ummmmm, have you bagged that GSM yet? Sorry....

After reading your post about that nasty fish, I HAD to ask!

A friend of mine has one of those nasty buggers and she comes to work about once a month with a band aid on her arm from getting bit. They're just NASTY! I ask her when she's going to get rid of it and she says she still thinks it's the prettiest fish there is. I ask her if that is really the reason or if she is just scared of trying to catch it.

Jonathan tell your buddy I want a job!!!

He's too tight, but I will link him to your site. Maybe he will find a use for your shots.

Well, she would be pretty if she wasn't such a B. Kind of like someone breaking up with Christy Brinkley I guess. Under my lighting she has wicked neon blue lines too. But the anger in her face just turns me off. And I always feel bad for her midget mate. Poor guy should call the cops.

 Still getting the stink-eye from that fish?

yes. when I look at her, she just stares me down. "Come on in fat boy. I'll take you, the tank, and this house down with me."

I just made a rediculous impulse buy. I picked up a show size Atlantic Blue Tang which is actually about 2" longer than the max size stated in Michael Scott's Marine Fishes. It's at about 11.5" right now, and about 3 years old.

I had one of those in the past. It ruled my tank, but was very pretty. Maybe it will eat your clown. ;)

yeah, no pics until I know it will survive...kind of a thing with me now.

It is a very risky fish to add to my system, and I don't know if anyone watches Futurama, but you know how Bender craps those bricks? Well, that's exactly what my PBT just did.

Man I missed this thread without even knowing it! Jonathan you crack me up!

Our wolf eel does that. NASTY!!! That's when I use the excuse that the predator tank is my sons so HE needs to get in there with the tongs and get the crap out of there.
