OK! Enough chat...Starting a 1000g+ Reef

Your avatar made me wonder...what ever became of your favorite clown. You told us where Big Blue went, but said nothing about your tank favorite? ;)

HEHEHE....if I told you, I would have to kill you. All the other fish made it to nice homes. I was very particular about how that all went down.

I'm finally just taking a week off starting Wednesday (Canada Day). I honestly don't care if its upaid, I just need the break. I can't imagine having to do it all with health problems. Crap, I even blocked out my 2+ months (Nov - Jan) of the cough that wouldn't leave. I am honestly amazed at how much you can accomplish, its actually pretty inspirational!

I am already getting solicitations from locals, and not so locals, to take some fish for my tank! Its really nice though to see how caring you are about finding the right homes for your fish.

Well for me, I feel if we are gonna yank them out of the sea, I should do my very best to give them a decent life in captivity. I have read opposing views about fish lifespans, but believe that a fish can live longer in captivity with the proper care. Some people just don't care, kind of like all the cat haters out there, or folks that consider "pets" as less than pets. I know I'll catch heat for this, but I would consider them part of our family.

Even your favorite clown? :D

Don't know how I lost this thread for so long. I have been thinking about you lately and wondering how you were doing. I finally looked this thread up and see it is over. I am glad I got to see it in person before it went away. I truly hope your health condition improves soon! Not so you will get back into the game, but just because you need it! Thanks for all the help, beer, advice, and laughs!

Hey Gabriel, good to hear from you. I am still muddling through the break down believe it or not. My health is much better now, but I still have to watch my back. Hope all is well with you guys! I thought you were taking off?

It's all good Gabriel. We stuffed it into the dumpster at my store. Good to move on. I have been waiting for a couple months for a local guy to come and cut it up so he could get the acrylic, but he never came by and I had enough. Lots still to do. Got to build my gym and get back in shape. Fix my house, and then build my next tank! :D

Jonathan, I am glad the health is better. Best of luck to you and we all look forward to your future work :)

Thanks Mark. I am totally blown out from the work today, but still happy I could be fairly involved. It's a big deal for me to lift, bend, and wield a hammer. I had to nap the last part of the day.

Man It pains me to see that happening after the great run you've had! Although...we never get to see videos like that so thanks for blazing some new trails there and sharing =)

Must be like the pain I felt when I tore down my old 400. I built it into a marble wall in my basement only to decide a few months later to move. Hammered it to pieces and let someone cut the tank apart for glass. Thankfully I never got to run that tank so it was easier.

Can't wait to see what the future has in store and glad to hear your health is better!

Thats sad it see such a beautiful tank end up like that . Got to do what ya have to though, good luck down the road.
