Ok Fish Count For A 125 Reef

Looking for the perfect amount of fish and size for a 125 this is what I would like to have. Any suggestions on size, colors, amount, agreesiveness, and over all enviro. choices, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The list
1. Sailfin Blenny or possibly bicolor

2. yellow watchman gobbie (already have in tank)

3. Some form of brislte tooth tank

4. two true percula clown fish

5. pacific or blue hippo tang

6. coral beauty

7. open for suggestion

I don't want to break 10 fish to make it easier to maintain water quality

I i think should be a reef safe wrasse.

I'm setting up a 125 myself my current occupants will go in it but my preliminary stock list is this (see if it gives you any ideas)

Coral Beauty
Occelaris Clown pair
Royal Gramma
Green Striped Manarin
Neon Goby
Yellow Clown Goby

3 Bartlett Anthias
Fairy Wrasse
Yashia Goby

IMO you could add a couple of really small gobies to your list because they have very little bioload, like a nice cleaner neon goby and a clown goby. They are very cute and a must have!!

A male w/ two female anthias would be nice, squamipinnis, bartlett's are two good choices.
Get a Tomini tang for your bristletooth..they are awesome.
Or..get a Kole tang and make one of your other fish a foxface Lo. For some reason those two will generally buddy up.
Or..another type of rabbitfish, like a scribbled or bluespotted would be great.
A pair of mandarins would be nice,but I would wait until the tank matured..in the 8 month range.
I am partial to freidmani psuedochromis{aka orchid dottyback} they like to have a hiding spot,and can be a little elusive..but they are an amazing color. If you watch them at the LFS..the ones that seem to come out front and center will also do so in your tank. An LFS I used to work at just got in a Labouti and Scott's fairy wrasse from Australia. Those two fish blow the ones that we used to get in the past away! Their colors are amazing!!

Here's what I have in mine:

I agree with the suggestions to hold off on adding the mandarin yet. I moved the livestock from my 90 into the 125 this past December, including the male mandarin. I added the female mandarin shortly after the move and I'm now sure I should have waited for the pods to get reestablished after the move. I thought that since it was mature LR and I was adding a sump and a fuge that it would go well. She's doing ok, but she was thin when I bought her and she still isn't plumping up like the male. She's not getting more thin, just not getting fatter like I'd hoped.

Start feeding that girl some selcon soaked brine shrimp in a jar.

I've tried that (actually it was cyclopeeze in a jar) but neither mandarin will set fin in the jar. I used an olive jar (slender enough that other fish can't get into it but generous enough that I didn't think they'd feel crowded). Suggestions for a different size or shape of jar?

I'll be heading to Inland Aquatics next week anyway, so I'll probably get another pod booster from them. I've stocked pods from them a few times that way. The male appears to be doing fine but the female definitely needs some more flesh on her. She's been in the tank since mid-December, so it's time to try some more aggressive tactics to get her fed.

I rescued my male 6 months ago he is alot fatter but still a little thin. He was EXTREMELY thin when I got him. But I admit I haven't been suplimenting frozen enough.

Try a little bit larger jar, don't worry if some other fish can get in there just make sure everybody else is fed, and the other fish leave some food. I use a very small cherry jar and my mandarin goes in there no problem. Just try something a little bigger. Try some other food too. Frozen Blood worms, Frozen brine soaked in selco, and frozen mysis shrimp (the babies). Hopefully she'll take to one of those.
