This is really going to depend on where you are at with this new tank. If your cycle is over and all you have in the tank is algae eating snails, then I would take it out. If your cycle isn't over or better yet hasn't started you can leave it for a few days to start the ammonia cycle. But, if you leave it I would suggest putting something in the tank that will eat it. Hermit crabs or nassarius snails will do the trick.

I'd take it out. Have you ever smelled a dead snail before? Imagine that just sitting there. PU.

Ummm ok..so we are like 50/50 now... no "stink" yet though.... based upon previous comments went to local FS and bought some Hermit and Nassarius (2 crab, 3 snail).... it was like the Turbo had a hit put out on him... A Hermit and Nassarius both ran right for him... see pics.. So still not sure... considering what I bought... leave him in or pull him out??????

The reason I suggest taking it out is what Cloak posted above, who needs more chance of hi spike in nutrient input (algae) when your tank is new, and may or may not be still cycling? especially if it isn't needed.
Besides, didn't you say you had live rock? That's good enough to start a cycle coupled with the time the snail has been there already.
Anymore than that sounds like too much of a gamble for my taste.
But I have been known to be OCD about those types of things. ;-)

If its gonna cycle because of a dead snail, nows a good time for that to happen. A little extra cycle and patients never hurt. Atleast there's no fish in there yet. ( I think)
