***Well that will do it for tonight, I'm going to fool around somemore tomorrow afternoon while my halides are on and get some more, hopefully better pictures to share, and some top downs while i do my water change and the koralias are off******

Nice Sean, Pretty Palmers colony. Nice pays and furit loops and toadstool too. The Bird of Paradise is a seriatorpora .What's up with it losing it's green?

Shawn,

Try maxing the ISO setting on your camera and messing with the white balance. Those are the two easiest things to do to help reef photography.

Yeah I messed with the wb on it in a few of the pictures but I don't believe it has an ISo because it's just a Sony handy cam, I have a cannon rebel with optics but my batteries are shot so it's useless to me at the mOment until I get te new batteries and charger shipped to me

Ps.. Its Shawn everyone, lol sorry dealt with this my entire life so I'm used to it, just thought I'd clarify lol

Thanks Adam, I do believe I saw a "sport" option while I was fooling around with it yesterday night, I'll give that a try thanks alot

Guess I'll har to read instructions again, hen I scroll through my scene options the "sports" one is the only one that is there but unable to be selected... Hmmmmm, I hate directions lol

From the graininess of the photos, this would lead me to believe that your ISO is already too high. I shoot as much as I can at 100. The higher you go, the more light you allow in which is an easy fix for some photographers. Shoot low ISO, and Aperature priority if your camera allows it. Also, set your white ballance against a piece of printing paper for true white. Then find a program where you can adjust the color to better match your actual tank. This is called, "Post Editing". And there isn't anything wrong with it!

The camera I'm using is only a sOny handycam, camcorder/camera.. I usually use u cannon rebel but my batteries are shot and I have to buy new ones which I haven't gotten around to. My cannon has all these ISO and WB setting in it along with a real macro lense, hopefully I'll have that back in use in the near future, for now this will have to do unfortunately lol
