Ok i just got the tunze nano 9002 skimmer( after some 4 days of breaking in). and the skimmer makes foam but the foam isnt "dry". It brings water up and filles the collection cup. Is there a way i can make it skim dryer so it GETS skimmate?
any help is welcome, thanks,

Close the air screw or raise the skimmer slightly. Close it only about 1/8 to 1/4 turn and wait a day to see the results. You can also raise it about 1/8".

i raised the skimmer already ....so if i CLOSE the screw just a lil it should be fine? thanks for your help and time,

Yes, it may take another 1/8-14 turn but you want to adjust slowly and wait for the skimmer to respond.

Still fills the cup up with water..im starting to get upset about the skimmer... ive turned it and raised and lowerd the water and it still fills the cup up.
any other ideas.
thanks again 3fins

Keep closing the air screw 1/8- 1/4 turn a day until you get dark skimmate, just about every skimmer needs to be adjusted in this way, it is not unique to this skimmer.

i like the skimmer irealy do...it pull like..realy REALY light green tea color stuff out but it fill up with water..im waiting to c if its better in the morning

Don't feel bad I am going through the same thing I am on day 4.
I either get a full cup of water in a matter of minutes or the bubbles wont make it up over the bottle neck.
Just trying to be relaxed about it lol

Yea I came in to work this morning to a full cup of water so I dialed the air back and now it is back to sitting at the beginning of the bend lol.

yes , i no the feeling..having to wait for it to work or, for it to fill the cup up with water.

A PAIN

but its ganna be a good skimmer when it works
i hope =)

If you get to where you get greenish or tan water, you might try raising the skimmer one more notch and not making any more airline adjustments. It can take some work to get dialed in but once you get it, they work very well.

I understand your problems. I have had my 9002 for approx 10 months now and have had consistant problems getting dark skimmate. Before i had the Osmolator the water level really caused problems. But now with the osmolator i either have really wattery simmate or none. I have adjusted the air screw multiple times and it doesnt go dark, just stops producing skimmate. Do you think a vinegar bath would help any?

Have you tried cleaning the clear elbow that goes into the venturi tube? I noticed this "all or none" skimmate effect on mine and I had lots of white buildup in the elbow. Just cleaning out this one piece made the 9002 work like new.

but thats my point, it is new..not even a month old yet
...so this morning i looked in there and what a surprise..water
however i was playing with it and when i raise the water..it foams like crazy and when i let the water level down SLOWLEY the foam...i guess is dryer but it eventualy goes down to the bottum. starting to be a pain.

In my case I accidentally heavly dosed Kalk for 24 hours. While nothing was harmed in my tank, it was plenty enought to clog this elbow. One day my skimmer was working, and the next it wasn't. But a quick soak of the elbow in vinegar took care of this.

Another tip on adjusting the 9002. Only make one or two very small adjustments a day. Make these adjustments on what is getting collected in the cup, don't even worry about how high the foam column is. I find with mine, the smallest turn, like less then 1/10 is all that is needed to adjust it. If I turn it 1/4 or even 1/8, the skimmer REALLY changes how its skimming. Mine at least seems to have a very touchy air adjustment.

Now to adjust, I check the skimmate, turn the knob 1/10 depending on whether it's too wet or dry, and then walk away. I don't even look at my skimmer until the next day. The only time I might make a faster adjustment is when I turn the knob to far and it quickly fills the cup with clear water. :eek2:

Once I get it set, I don't have to adjust the screw at all. It runs very stable for several weeks. It seems the only time I have to adjust it again, is when I change the water level to much when refilling after doing a water change.

Hope this works for you!
