Time to stop lucking around here and post some pictures of my new 120 reef. It is going to be a an SPS dominant tank. I got the tank from Leigh-Anne from Aquariums in Edmond. It is a standard 120 reef ready tank.

The sump is a 40 breeder, wanted to get it as big as I could, one for a larger water volume and to accommodate the Deltec.

I got my rock yesterday. I ordered it from a well known online store. I was not overly impressed with it but the large pieces I ordered were large. Not a lot of coraline algae, I would say about 30% covered. That will all come in time.

Deltec AP701 in action! Yes this is overkill for a 120 but I going to up a larger tank in the future and plan to use my existing equipment when I change over.

Fogot one of the stand and canopy. It was bulit by my Dad for my bother. My bother's life got to busy for his tank, so when they moved two years ago he never set it back up. I am "borrowing" it till I get my larger tank or he gets the urge to start up another tank.

Ya gotta love that Deltec skimmer. It is awesome.

Keep the pictures coming.

My Old Tank

My old tank when I lived in AZ.

You want more pictures, here you go. The best way to look at all these is to pick a coral and watch it progress from pic to pic. There are two pages, click the link on the bottom to go to the next page.

How's the new tank going, Ed?

LL

Not as quick as yours! Had two issues this last two weeks. The more I looked at the rock the more disappointed I got by the quality. So, I sent Live Aquaria an email. I just stated to them I was not happy with the quality and that they should update their description and photos of their "Premium" rock on their website. They replied asking for some photos, so I sent them the ones posted here. To my surprise they agreed it was not "Premium" rock and refunded HALF my money even the shipping! Now that customer service.

Another issue this week was my brand new Ice Cap 660 went out. Called Marine Depot and as always with their great customer service sent me a new one and a new T5 bulb that seems to have went out with the ballast. So I am running the three bulb configuration till the new bulb gets here sometime this week.

Going TDY next week should have my reactor when I get home. Again, this is overkill for a 120 but plan on using all this for my larger tank in the future.

Hey Ed,
A little off topic, but do you know anyone at the ACAP center there at Ft. Sill?

No, I did ACAP in Hawaii. I don't know any of the folks here at Ft Sill.

Is that the Reef Octopus twin chamber reactor?

I've decided to go with the GEO Model 624. Now just trying to decide among controllers, regulators, etc.

well, if you do ever run into the ACAP center, a guy named George is the head guy up there, tell him that his grandson said hi! :-) Keep us posted on the tank! I looked at your other site, the pictures look great!! Cant wait to see the progress on this one!

No, it is a My Reef Creations CR-2. Went with what I was familiar with. Had an MRC reactor on my old tank and loved it. I realize they are under new ownership now but as far as I have seen so far they have been good folks to deal with.

Ah ha!

Ah ha!

You answered the question I posed on the CO2 tank thread. Good looking twin chamber reactor.

I was studying your plumbing photos, down to the holes drilled in your skimmer outflow - very well planned and executed. Great job, Ed.

ORA Red Planet, has maintained its color from the start, even is keeping its green undertone. Wish I could get a better pic. Fastest growing thing in the tank.

You're on the road to a great looking tank! Keep your FTS pics in a folder and group them in order by month. It'll be awesome to see your progression over a year or more!

Some great corals. What awesome colonies they will make.

Bet your fish love the caves.

Best luck....

I agree, I already have two saved. If you look at the link I posted above you can see my old tank and the progression shots I took of it.

You had some very nice colonies in your previous tank. Good luck with the new one and hope it turns out nicely for you.
