Oldude's Little Reef on the Prairie

If that's the same piece I got from you then it's a slow grower in my system as well. Al the other ones, including the green dragon are showing improvement while that one is barely making it off the frag plug still :)

My SPS grows well, but I get far better polyp extension in the frag tank than in the display (they are connected) so I've largely concluded that something in the latter is a nipper. Probably the Potters or Flame angels, though a couple of my Tangs may be involved too. It's trade-offs, I suppose, but some of your corals are spectacular - well photographed too!

Thanks, the suspects you mentioned are quite likely the cause. I no longer keep a foxface or regal tang for that reason. Fish are generally hit & miss but in my experience after these two I mentioned reach maturity every one I've ever had has turned into a serious coral or clam nipper.

Yes it's very slow but worth the wait. :spin1:

I don't see my hippo nipping, at least not yet; though it is a major clutz, always snapping branches off my green slimmer and red dragon SPS.

Yeah fish can be "frag" machines once they get to be a decent size. Regarding the nipping, fishing are hit & miss.

Wow Greg stunning pictures.

Our tank is going through the horrible hair algae stage... just started adding coral. Wish ours will look similar to yours in the coming years!

Thank you. Those algae stages of the tank cycle can never go away fast enough can they?

Congrats on winning TOTM!!!

I knew it wouldn't be long Greg! Your tank is absolutely amazing! My favorite tank on RC. Obviously I guess, since we are copying your dimensions LOL!!! Really enjoyed reading the article and looking at all those "drool worthy" coral photos. Keep it up Dude!

Thanks very much, & thanks for taking the time to read my write up.

Mind blowing pictures Greg :)

Setting up our frag tank, can't wait to have a bunch of nice coral to add to our display :)

It's been a tough past few weeks on the fish in my tank. Not sure what is going on but I know a few died of old age.
I've lost:
3 chromis
1 blue Atlantic chromis
Mystery Wrasse
dragon pipe
2 pencil wrasses
3 anthias
To top it off my purple tang is pretty beat up but I think it's being fighting with the yellow tang.
