Ed Reef - Wish you the best.... I got an juv Emperor once and he was fine until the moment he started to turn into adulthood (changing color period) and that's when he went crazy and consume my candy cane, frogspawn and Open brain over a period of a week !!

I hope this one will behave but time will tell.

Hey klondike4001 I searched through old photos and here is what the piece looked like in June 2007. It's the mille looking one in the middle.
Hard to imagine they are actually the same coral.

Here it is 2 years later June 2009.

yeah it's a wierd piece for sure. Here's a picture of it taken last Oct 2008 while still in my frag tank and closer to the light. The taller of the two original stems of the frag rtn'd leaving just the smaller one that has been morphing ever since. As you can see when it encrusted the base it took on a whole new look.

No, my previous display tank was 130 gal and this one is 400.

Thanks for the kind words. My male idol for whatever reason decided to start attacking the female and killed her. So I am down to just the one but it eats pellets like a pig. I also see it eating from the underside of the rock work so I assume it's also eating sponges of which I have plenty. All of my fish except for the mandarins & pipefish eat pellets. Those 3 eat pods so they are pretty low maintenance. Thanks again.

Interesting observation. Here is a stylo placed midway between the MH & T5's. There is a big difference in colour of the coral from side to side. On the bottom left side is where it's getting it's light from the MH's & the top right side from T5's. I'm glad I have the MH's in the front half, can't say I'm really sold on T5's.

My mandarins were spawning again tonight. Felt bad disturbing them, first with a bright flashlight and then a camera flash but managed to get a picture although kind of a crappy one. They were doing their thing and were just separating when I got the shot. In think the male (blue/green one) still has a smile on his face.
