Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

Love your efforts Oldude ... insane colouration. I've always been a MH bloke and not swayed enough by T5 - not bad dawn & dusk lighting though :) . Is there any particular supplementation that you make to your water to help with colour?

Tone :)
(also an old dude ;) )

Many thanks Tone. The only supplements I use these days are KZ sponge power (4 times per week) to help with a little extra pop and brighter growth tips & iron supplement(once per week) to boost my greens. That's about it these days but I think some of the colour I get is due to genetics more than anything. That said I am toying with the idea of going to zeo or maybe even vodka. I am just not sure what I will do yet, if even do anything at all. I might just change my lighting back to all MH's first.

Due to a lack of time it has been a long slow process getting my tank finished but today I pretty much finished the access panels. One more coat of verethane and I'll rig em' up.

Thanks for allowing the visit yesterday. This tank looks even better in person! You also lose the sense of scale in that photo...that's an 8 foot wall of solid coral. TOTM!!!

Looks Great. Everything, once again, is filling in nicely. I really like your group of butterflies. They don't pick at any of your corals?

Many thanks. Those pyramid butterflies don't pick at the coral so I quite like them too.:D

Ed Reef - Amazing beautiful Greg - love em butterflies.... I missed my Pyramid on my old system. They are so cool
Thanks ed. I think you should get some more of those pyramids.;)

Cirrhilabrus sp - Just read all thirty pages. Amazing tank. Now if only I could get to Calgary to see it first hand!
Thanks for looking and welcome to my thread. When you come to Calgary look me up.:)

Here's a few tank shots from a little closer in. Sorry for any sps forum people for the repeat.

It would look even better with the back glass cleaned off, I bet. Any reason you choose not to?

Elliott - absolutely stunning, great job! where did you find those pyramid butterfly's?
Thanks very much. They become available once in a while locally. I had wanted some for a few years so the last time I saw them I snagged those 4. I think they really add to the reef.

SunnyX - TOTM TOTM TOTM!!!!
Thanks Sonny, that is a great compliment.:smokin:

edandsandy +1 on TOTM !!! Gorgeous! absolutely gorgeous
Thank you for your very kind remarks.

Okay, okay I'll clean the back glass ASAP. I know it would look better and it's not that I have chosen not to clean it but I have just procrastinated because it's a big job (PITA) with a lot of hard to get at places with corals in the way and some that have started encrusting on the back glass. I'll post a new FTS after it's done.
