Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

Greg, I hope that this is the issue and it is now resolved. Just out of curiosity what was the TDS read once the new resin changed color?
That is a good question Brian but I never actually bothered to check because the TDS meter was reading a little wonky for quite a while so I never trusted it.

I will always have a soft spot for the green inner rim of the vermiculata coralite
Yes me too. I got that particular piece as a little frag about 4 years ago and it's had a very hard life. It would grow a bit and them fall into a hammer then recover and some thing else would happen, etc, etc. It's now getting to be a decent size and seems to be pretty hardy. The picture shows about 1/3 of the small colony.

Picked up a few new pieces from a friend of mine that he had duplicates of. He hasn't had them for very long but he runs zeo so it will be interesting to see how they change in my tank. I think they look to have some great potential.

Hello Greg,

I have been following this thread and let me say something you should already know: you have one beautiful piece of reef at home! Just plain beautiful. Colors and growth are amazing.

I´m sure you have already answered this question and I´m sorry for asking it again but how do you handle the fact that corals are so close? Do you often prune the corals or do you let Nature take it´s course?

Also, I´ve seen you have the A. multiacuta with a beautiful deep green.

Again, if you don´t mind me asking, what is your experience with it regarding light? Does it like direct light, does it does better in the shadow or with indirect light? Is it more a MH or T5 lover?

Regards,
André

eran - wish i had friends that had duplicates of corals like that. nice grab!!! wait, can i be your friend???
Yep he's a great guy to know & sure I need all the friends I can get.:fun4:
Leonardo_ Woow those look great, especially the Tenuis!
Thanks Leonardo. I hope they do well.
Dejavu - That baby glows!
Yes it does, hopefully I can keep it that way.

Thanks very much Andre, I do prune when I can but often don't get to it and nature takes it's course. In my experience the a.multiacuta gets very bright under strong lighting. I have mine near the front of the tank under 250w MH.

:mad2:The other day I noticed some branches on my super-grape millepora were almost white but not from necrosis. Upon inspection I found and removed a hairy little blue eyed crab. That little rascal caused a fair bit of damage so I hope he's enjoying his new home in the sump with no corals to pick at. :hammer: Fortunately the coral is now recovering nicely.

The damage that my imperator angel did to this coral is healing and the new growth scars have kind of a purple hue to contrast the blue, interesting.

Interesting how this bad boy is starting to darken up since it's been away from my buddy's zeovit environment for a few weeks. I am hoping it doesn't get too dark because I like the way it glows in the tank.

Unfortunately I recently lost most of the small colony I had of this but this little remaining piece seems to be doing well.

The Imperator bite marks are healing up nicely on this clam.
