one month after the upgrade to an 850gal reef

We are....I picked up the 400 gal tank and custom sump that I designed last Friday. I'll plumb and wire it next week and fill it....probably move everything into it shortly after. I'm currently setting up collection trips for the end of this month and June.

Steve, if you set up any new tanks please post links here to any new build threads. Your tank inspired many a reefer back in the day, me included. I used to spend hours looking at your site. Way back when 850g was considered monstrously huge. It's still big but not monstrous.

Glad you are going to bear another monster. 2000g. :D Can't wait. Just make sure it has that same 6ft depth. Your aquascape on the tank is still the best I've ever seen. :)

the most awesome and well-thought out tank in the area for sure. the simplicity of the design on such a large scale is amazing, it really is a slice of the ocean on land.

Steve, Your 850 is my favorite of all time too, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you'll do next.

yeah, one of the best tanks ever. Anyone know what Steves up to these days?

Man, that tank is so amazing. I just can't help but feel like so much is lost by the fact that you can only see it from one side though. A tank like that needs a full 3-sided view!

Awesome job man. And man, the "worm incident" is pretty freaky!

He left Portland a few years ago to Florida, iirc, and donated all his Coldwater livestock to the Omaha zoo. At least that was the plan, I don't know if it came to fruition. I haven't heard from Steve in years though.
