Opinions on adding other species of Wrasse

Hello all,

I currently have a pair of juvenile O. Clowns, Six-line Wrasse, Pygmy Hawkfish, and a Green Mandarin in a 72g Bow w/ 29g sump.

My six-line hasn't shown much aggression at all except when I first introduced the pygmy hawkfish, but not much since. I think they settled their differences, territorially. I've become fond of the different, beautiful colors on different wrasse species and was looking to possibly add a Christmas Wrasse, Melanarus Wrasse, and maybe others like a Leopard wrasse if i can get a hold of one. I've heard six-lines can get aggressive towards other wrasses, but mines fairly young. Any thoughts?

There are a few threads here with people with many different wrasses and all getting along. One common factor is none of them have 6 lines with them. I'm sure you will have aggression at some point with the 6 line.

Here is one of the links, just do a search for Wrasse in the button above and you will find many threads on them.

I have multiple wrasse's in my tank. Solon fairy, Tammenicki, exquisite, gray head, pink margin, red velvet, naoki. They get along fine.

No sixline though. If you are looking into a Christmas wrasse then make sure it is a C. Claudia. there are other wrasses sold as Christmas wrasse and Claudia is the least aggressive.

Also, When I decided to get into the wrasse's I gave my mandarin to someone. a lot of wrasses will eat pods and anything in a tank that eats pods will outcompete a mandarin. Good luck just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the inputs everybody. I will put them into consideration. I love the 6 line, for it was the first fish in my tank along with the pair of clowns. However, there are so many lovely wrasses out there. I may have to find a new home for this dude. I wish the LFS that I found him at explained a little more about the 6 line's aggression.
