Wow Manny... that is striking! Where is that image from? Is it doctored? That looks to be a Hawaiian Z. flavescens...
John that fish was at a local LFS yes local here in south florida. It came in the wholesaler and sold for I believe 3-400 a while back.

I was driving around and stopped at a LFS that I've never been before(not many around my area LOL) and saw this fish and could not believe my eyes. Anyways off course money in hand and right out of the operating room in scrubs I thought I had a chance at this fish, I offered a substantial amount for it and the owner of the shop did not sell it.

Unfortunately this fish died 3 weeks later and the owner miss out on some real cash. The pics are true they where taken with my cell phone, when I went back camera in hand got the grim news about this particular fish. truly on of a kind.

Yes Z. flavescens mutant ninja turtle- AKA Calico Tang.
I will not stop until I get my hands on one
Here's the other side pics with cell phone:

Wow again... what a friggin' specimen! I have a yellow/white Z. flavescens, and have seen yellow/black ones... but never with all three... amen!:)

Here's my mutant Z. xanthurum... grey/black body with a white tail...

And my now rather common full yellow Z. scopas...

ive been waiting patiently to get my hands on a yellow koi tang for some time now but NO LUCK!!! and my patience are running out especially with that scopas aberration LA. WOW! copps that second pic that you posted of the yellow mutant morph is amazing.
GASMAN wat lfs was this fish at im in south florida 2 just curiouse

I would jump on it in a second if I had a tank suitable for it. I think its worth more than $500. but its all in the eyes of the beholder.

Very good point Spooky, I'm sure those few of us that have purchased Clarions or Gem tangs would see a fish like this and think "what a steal" when seeing this beauty. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" really holds true in this hobby doesn't it?

U and me buddy I've lost some sleep over that fish 4 sure;)

How did that guy kill that fish? An established larger Zebrasoma is as bulletproof as a damsel!

Do you still have your larger scopas/rostratum hybrid?

it's definitely stunning cause it's different but for myself, I don't think I could do it... but then again I'm the guy that spends $500/mo on shoes...

yes that second one is imo pretty rediculose it looks like a plane scopas with a mark on the mouth and for 200.00 id definetely prefer the other one even with the price tag its much more appealing....
