This is the situation hopeing to turn it into a solution on here. I currently have a 90cube which houses a red scooter blenny and I'm thinkin about addin a pellet eatin ora mandarin into my system I have plenty of copedos for them to eat. But, the problem is will they coexist with each other? I have been told that one would kill the other and rather than seeing that happen I'd like to see if anyone on here has had success with this tag team. Any advice or experience would be appreciated

A scooter will not kill a mandarin/ or vice versa. I have 2 scooters and 2 mandarins in my tank. All co-exist peacefully. The same species might chase each other around at first, but to the level of kill, is highly unlikely.

Two male mandarins would be a problem. But a scooter and mandarin will coexist but compete for copepods.

ORA mandarins are not the guaranteed success you may think they are.

its actually a spotted mandarin that is comin from another reefers breakdown of which hehas had for 8 months now eating pellets as formy red scooter he does not and only eats copepods i do have a well established tank with lots of pods so i dont think that will be the case thank you all for the advice and im lookin forward to haveing them both coexist

Interesting. I never met a scooter that would not eat mysis. My mandarins all do as well.

Me neither. Or is it either. Anyway, I also don't think your scoot will give your mandy a second look. I've had them together, both males. Feeding could be another issue.

I have two juvenile Scooters and mysis are their least favourite food - they will eat frozen blood worms, lobster eggs and brine shrimp with enthusiasm but mysis are a lot firmer than these foods and they aren't as keen.
