Handheld, still don't know what I am doing no post processing everything default straight out of camera. Can't wait to master this baby to get some more shots.

Not too bad.

A tripod will help, a faster shutter speed would help if you're not using a tripod and also turning off the pumps for a couple minutes so that the corals settle down.

Again, not bad for your first attempt.

Yep it's a okay picture coming to think of it. I'm trying to find my cheap tripod.. I need a better tripod anyhow.

Thanks for the tips.

Some people object to objects in the foreground being out of focus, as they claim they are distracting. They probably would have set the focal plane on the closest branch roughly in the lower middle.

Myself, I'd probably have tightened up on the framing so that only the branch on the middle upper right were visible. Because it is also in roughly the same plane, a large percentage of it would be in focus, particularly if you chose a higher numbered fstop (smaller aperature) for greater depth of field.

Taking the time to remove the marine snow (de-ice) is a pain but results in a much more quality looking image. Starting with shooting with pumps off and water having settled will yield fewer particles to be removed to begin with.

Fabulous camera and lens, btw.
