Hey guys I just got a gift in the form of a ornate butterfly fish I'm reading everywhere that there fine to keep if you can get them to eat anything other than coral. Anyone have experience with this species? Anything helps guys!

I got him to take the smallest piece of a shrimp so maybe he will start eating! iF anyone one has tips leave them here!

Get some mussels at the grocery store/seafood market. Pry one open and throw it in. It is a good choice for new fish that won't eat. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! He still won't eat anything I've been giving but i saw him eating something today and I waited by the tank and saw he was eating the snails in my tank which I don't mind I have hundreds they came in on live rock. I will try to get him to eat frozen though.

He's probably already "walking dead".........you have zero chance unless you put him in a tank on his own to learn to eat prepared foods. Stress is also a big issue and if he's getting bullied already again, no chance.

Easy masstick would be a good option as you can mash other foods into it and also paste it onto something in the tank.

Try live white worms........turn flow off during this time.

See if you can get some Poccilipora from reefers......it's a fast growing Sps. It could help short term while it learns to eat.
