I am interested in purchasing OSMOLATOR UNIVERSAL 3155 from you guys. My question is because i made my sump out of a 12 gallon rubbermaid container, will i still be able to mount the track against the wall of my rubbermaid container and still have the OSMOLATOR UNIVERSAL 3155 working properly and doing auto topoffs correctly and accurately?

It should be posible- it must be installed plumb(straight up and down). This will definitely require some ingenuity but can probably be done. If your container has straight walls you can probably just drill a hole and screw the rail to the sump.

I can't definitively say. If it does I am sure you can find a simple spacer or acrylic sheet to solve the problem.

one question:

is this thing essentially a top off system, when water below certain level, it trigger the powerhead?

or is there any other funtion?

Top off system but it includes a pump, runs on 9V for safety- even the pump. It also has redundant safeties. If the infared system fails, a float switch will turn it off and sound an alarm, if this fails a 10minute time out will turn the system off. In one sense it is just a top off system but seeing as Tunze invented the top off concept over 20years ago- we pretty much have the best top off system their is.

Cluelessfish:

I run a similar system with a rubbermaid type sump on my 30 and I have not had a problem at all with the slight angle. In fact it is quite incredible. Coming from a more expensive liter meter for top off that quit on me, this product is quite amazing and much more accurate as it adjusts for changes in evaporation (something that changes in this humid climate daily). It keeps the system exactly where I have it set and has numerous redundant safety features that make it outstanding for a top off system. I am absolutley in love with this system.

Only problem you will have is with the instructions. They are simply inadequate and confusing, but if you follow the pictures, you can get through it. The rails make for a nice system that holds where you put them, but the instructions are not the friendliest for putting it together.

Best regards,

Tim
