Osmolator?

I have a 180 aquarium and I'm looking for an Auto top off unit.

I am considering The Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155.

I topoff about 3 gallons per day into a basement sump

The water holding container is a rubbermaid brute
32 gallon trashcan and I will be running the topoff
water through a kalk reactor.

Is the Osmolator the right thing for my setup?

Also how long it the warranty on this unit?

Thank you

PS: I thought I saw a new inexpensive wavemaker for two pumps that was programed via USB... Or did I dream it ;)

It has a 2 year warranty. It will work but the sump must be above the rubbermaid trash can to avoid a siphon after the pump shuts off. Ideally I would use a smaller reservoir as a 4th and final safety. The osmolator has a primary optic sensor, a backup float switch and a 10 minute time out but a small reservoir that is not enough to drastically lower the SG or create a major flood makes it virtually fool proof.

The 7096 will be out in mid to late March.

The sump level rises about 6-8" when I turn off the return pump
at feeding time so I woud assume I neeed to mount the backup
float switch at that level so it does not go into alarm when I feed the tank.

The primary one would be lower at the normal operating level.

am I correct?

I would aldo place the sensors in a very still part of the sump,
but there are vibrations drom the pumps, I assume that the vibrations will not cause a problem.

Last how long are the tubes and wires on the unit?

Thank you

Yes, your install description sounds fine. The cables are 6ft long and the hose is 9ft long, 9ft is the maximum head.
