I got a rose anemone about 2 weeks ago. about 1 year ago i got a condylactis anemone,I heard that the clowns will go into that, however, the 2 clowns have not gone into it either. Why are they staying away? I have had them for about 1 year , maybe longer. How do I get them to play in it?

Some clowns will never go in to an anemone. You could try feeding closer to the anemone so they notice it or put them in a tighter area so they are almost forced to go into it. Either way they still may never go in to it.

It took my captive bred Ocellaris over a year to start using my LTA as a host. The BTA may not be your clowns natural host, but at least it is a host species. Just give them some time. I think they will eventually go into it.

Some people have had some success taping a picture of a clown in an anemone on the side of the tank. But if your clowns are tank raised, they might never take on a host, or they might start hosting your power heads, its really hit and miss.

I bated my maroon clownfish to the anemone by creating a trail of it's favorite food with a baster to the anemone. Once the anemone stung him it was love struck and obsessed ever since with the anemone.
