It happened approx at 10pm last night when we got back from dinner with my sister. Some info about the robber

- Male approx 20-25
- African American
- Approx 72" tall 180-200lbs
- Right handed using a silver 9mm
- He is using a black BMW (Can't you believe it?)

He went into my garage while i try to get my baby out of the back seat, put a gun on me and asking for my wallet as well as my wife purse. He took a few other small stuff in my garage then take off. I chase after him after i put my wife and baby in the house but he took off in a black 2 doors BMW older model approx 02- 05.

Just an FYI to all O.C Reefers because we all know O.C has a very high crimes compare to other city. Esp with our economy nowadays. Please be alert and report all strange activities.

Holy crap Steve!

Glad no one was hurt. Dude please don't go chasing after someone with a gun...just not worth it especially that you have a baby!

sucks i know how you feel...

My wife was leaving for work 10 years ago and when she opend the garage door to leave two black guys with guns ran in and held us at gun point then tied us with tape as they ransacked the house looking for anythign they could steal. Everyone was ok and ofcourse they were never caught.. I had a 40 cal and heard the scream but at 7am its hard to start letting of rounds when you know the kids are still home accross the street and you can tell there is more then one in the house with you.. did not want to wind up shooting a friend of mine who was in my front bedroom. Was a crap experience but everyone lived and other then a gun smack to the top of the head no one was hurt.

Steve, I'm glad everybody is ok....I know your first reaction is to chase em..probably not a good idea. Remember, the guy knows where you live.

And just think. Our Californian government wants to release 58,000 jailbirds back on the streets because it's too crowded in prison and that vilolates their rights.

About 16-17 years ago we got home invaded by four asian guys and one black guy :S crime rate in OC isn’t too bad, but then again I used to live in the bad part of Long Beach. Steve what happened to that black opt military training? :D

Sounds like some desperate guy. Mm. At least no one got hurt. How much did you lose? Did you manage to grab his plate numbers? Sorry to hear about that.

Ddinox64: IMO if we release the nonviolent ones on probation during the climax of our economy (not now), it shouldn't be too bad. But releasing them now is just dumb.

Glad u and ur family are ok. With ur family around, glad u didn't try to be a hero. It's just risky. This is getting too common, I heard moms with kids are being targeted recently. Kid is held hostage while mom is forced to get money from the bank!!! Unbelievable!!!

Guys, thank you so much for the support. I made a phone call last night to my Duty and this morning the Commanding Officer agree to let me take my Remington Rifle home along with the 9mm till i move into the new home. My wife never want us to keep Rifle or Pistol at home but she learned her lesson after this incident. She agree to let me keep a 9mm or my .45 at home now.

I wasn't mad about the robber taking my wallet or my wife purse Because i have $200k renter insurance. I am mad because i can't do anything about it. I wasn't scare but i am more worry about my little girl cuz he was standing at the door where my baby was at. I wish they caught the bastard so i can meet up with him and laught at stupidity. If my wife and baby wasn't around lastnight, i will duke it out with him. He is approx 10 feet away from me, we can play catch all day long. Went to the PD today to ID some suspect but it wasn't the guy.... I am now prepping for the next round.....

Most crimes like that are one and done.... The fact that they did not force you back inside the house and try to find more makes me think was more a random act of crime rather then someone who was watching you or being told that you have drugs, money or a reason for them to want to come back and get inside to get more.

I can say "I know exactly how you feel" I moved with in one month of being robbed also... The gun makes you feel more secure but the odd's are against you that you will have it in a position to use it and not affect the lives of your friends, loved ones and neighbors around you.. I considered myself an excellent shot i was at the range at least 5 to 10 times a month.
In my situation i do think i would have killed the robber i saw first had i decide to risk everyone life and let off rounds...

That is the great debate i would have had with myself for the rest of my life had they raped or done anything like that to my wife is why did i not just shoot the first one i saw with my 40.cal. My only answer is i knew it would kill him and it would have gone through him and across the street and i knew the two little girls share that front room plus my friend was staying in the room that i saw the robber going towards first.. It was like a car accident in the way the brains thoughts speed up and it seems like time slows down and you have many many thoughts in just a few seconds.

Sorry to hear about your experience & i am glad everyone is ok.
