Seems appropriate to post a spider pic in October. I don't know its scientific name or anything like that, it just looks mean.

A food storage or egg sack (I don't know).

Thanks for the great link Ebmorri!! Great information on it. I will let it live for now since it eats small insects, and is harmeless.

Iceemn360 those are great shots also!! Is it the same type of spider? It looks very similar.

When I was little my brother and I used to throw "bugs" into "writing spiders'" webs. One time we even threw a toad into a web. The spider wrapped him up.
