I'm need of a rather really good attorney. This week was not very good to me at all. I've found myself in some trouble that could cost me my career. Anyone know/have a good traffic attorney?? One who can help someone with a CDL class A with H & T endorsements. Not saying that I LOVE my job here, But I would like to keep it:hmm5: I need it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stupid.

I don't think our local reef attorney Rob is in that line. If you can afford it try Richard Sindel of Sindel and Sindel. He has some serious pull.

I would still try to get a hold of Rob Pennell he might be able to help or know someone that can. You can pm him rgpennell .
Great guy and should be able to atleast lead you in the right direction !

Enough lawyer bashing! JK

Still a student... So at least you have some morals left.

I HAVE A BUDDY THAT WORKS FOR BROWN AND BROWN. (YOU KNOW THE GUY WITH THE EYE PATCH) THEY HANDLE SOME TRAFFIC STUFF. CALL THEM AND ASK FOR ELY HADOWSKY. THEY DO A LOT OF PERSONAL INJURY BUT THEY DO TRAFIC STUFF TOO
I AM PRETTY SURE THEY HAVE FREE CONSULTATIONS (SP)

PLUS LAST TIME I WAS THERE THE OWNER HAS A 180 SALT TANK IN HIS OFFICE

Sindell's the guy you call when you have an unexplained body to deal with and you dont want Rosenblum. Both of them call take care of your problem, but you'll pay a premium price for their abilities.

I dont know any about Rob Pennell, but if he's a traffic lawyer, then he's most likely capable of handling what you need.

I'm assuming this is for a C&I/C&R type deal and not a fatal accident?

Nick

It was not an accident, and was not Driving under the influence.

He was just going a little fast in a construction zone. Doesn't seem that bad, but for a CDL license that could cost him his job. :(

Yeah, I'm not a giant fan of those citations unless the work crews are actually working. The recent spate of road repair/construction accidents hasnt exactly made the state happy. They increase insurance costs to the state and make projects more expensive.

But when you rip up every major freeway in the state at the same time....you're gonna have accidents. Why they dont have crews working 24-7 to finish some of these things is beyond me...

Go w/ a traffic lawyer, anyone will do. What will usually happen is that the judge will allow it to be turned into a non moving violation and you will be fined the same amount as if you pled guilty to the original charge of speeding, (which since its a construction zone, will be higher than normal), but you'll also have to pay your lawyers fees, which you can count on being close to what the fine was. The court however will want their money immediately.

I think the state has set mandatory minimums for construction site violations. IIRC, before I became a police officer, I got popped by STL city doing 65 in a 55 mph construction zone...it was Sunday, and there was no cones set our and no workers present....but I still got fined $240 for the original ticket, and $100 for lawyer's fees...but that was 6 years ago too...might be higher now.

Good luck,

Nick

cool ill rememebr that when i have my next party. last time we just threw the unexplained bodies into a dumpster by GWA.

I used to bartend in Clayton prior to being a police officer. Both Rosenblum and Sindel, (and their retinue's) would come in on a regular basis. One of Sindel's guys, Travis Noble was dating a friend of mine who worked at the bar. Travis is definately on my short list of people to call when I need a lawyer.

Good guy, very talented, very approachable, straight forward. Not cheap. But if I'm calling Travis for his legal assistance, I'm in need of serious help.

Smart man....just like building up a reef tank, prior planning prevents unneccessary problems that could get ugly later. :D

last time we just threw the unexplained bodies into a dumpster by GWA.

Not bad thinking, since the decaying critters from the store will smell so bad they'll most likely cover the stench from the bodies, but you need to think about the trash guys. Are they going to turn you in? See above for prior planning.

:D

Tune in next week as we discuss, Quick lime vs Regular lime. Is it really quicker???

Nick

The body decomposes and part will float up and be found. I'm telling you the lime does wonders and we already have it. Hoffa will never be found!

Thanks for everyone's replies. I'll definitely be in need of a Traffic lawyer. I was popped for doing 18 mph over the posted 25 mph in a construction zone in ST. Peter's while workers were present 2 of them collecting tools in the grassy noel, but still there none the less ( that's a joke so laugh) they were cleaning up. DOT government law states ( so I've heard not stating facts) that any CDL holder/carrier will have their license revoked if convicted of excess speeds of 15 mph over the posted speed limits within a construction zoned area. Beings me and the DOT officer had such a wonderful chat ( He was rude, I was a smart-a**) he decided to help me with my lead foot. I was doing 40mph which is the posted limit other than this little stretch that is posted @ 25. Beings he can claim whatever and didn't check what type action he use to radar or pace or air or land etc.... He wrote it for 43mph in 25 as he said just to guarantee it was over the 15mph case. He called me a smart-a** and I responded with God bless you SIR and have a wonderful day and pleasant weekend. I offered him my coffee, but I didn't have any donuts :(

Unfortunately, If my employer finds out that I was speeding in a construction zone, I'm fired on the spot. We have a 0 tolerance policy. It works like this: Hurry up! You better get that load off before 2pm!!!!!!!!! Are you empty yet!!!!1000 x's an hour. What you got a speeding ticket? Your fired. Thanks again for everyone's concerns and help.

try not getting into trouble you would have more money for fish stuff

Quick note to yourself here NAIRSACK. IL state posted speed limit is 55mph for Trucks ( 18 wheelers). It should take you 3 3/4 to 4 hours to go from ST. Louis Mo. To Indianapolis IN. Not 3 hours. So if I were you I'd watch that old Mack's speedometer and NOT let it get so close to the 70mph mark. Or you will end up in the same boat I'm in.........Well not really, I'd through you overboard to feed the sharks while I attempt to get away.:eek1: :bum:
