ok i am gauging interest at a day on the bike. i am sure there are a few that ride. so how about a trail day, better yet lets hit snow summit up and hit the chair and make a day of it. honestly no looking for newbie riders that are still on the bike path. although i am always open for a nice road ride. I am thinking more of a some nice singletrack trails, some nice decents, heck i am even up for a nice pedal from the bottom to the top if someone has some Xc riding in mind.

so anyone? let me know:D

I would be down except I might need a new mnt bike if I'm gonna start riding again. I let it sit outside too long this time.

I am in for sure. Been out of it for a while now but doing spinning to get my fitness back up. Hehe. Definitely sounds like a plan.

this was Noble Canyon single trail. Can you do it?

maybee even try to build this up to a once a month ride on the same weekend each month.. any ideas?

i got to dig up some old racing photos some day and post.lol

Our Club rides every Wed nite @ Fullerton Loop. We start @ 7:00 pm right on Rosecrans & Sunny Ridge St. It's about 11miles total and it's pretty easy few singles trails here and there. We go everywhere on Sat like last Sat we went to Chilao in Angeles Crest. This Sat we're going Cannell Plunge in Kern County to do long down hills. We dont have downhill bike(jumper) We're more into attack hills and technical single down hills. Like the Noble Canyon in San Diego. the Jumper bike is too heavy to climb hills. Most our bikes are 24lbs to 32lbs depends on the bike and their components. every $100 you spend you get 500g lighter LOL. PM me if you like to try out first on easy Fullerton Loop.

I only ride Foes. They are bomb proof bikes made in California. The customer service is second to none as well. To better answer your question, you need to give a spending cap first.

Wow no messing about there, FOES are amazing! I would say a $1000 hardtail and up. (a hard tail is a bike with front shox only). Something by GT, Trek or Cannondale will last. If you are after a dual suspension then approx $2000 and up will be your ball park. I would keep an eye out for previous season deals, you can save so much money for a great bike.

I personally now ride a Commencal and love it!

Don't forget to ck out the used bike market, like reef tanks, people buy bikes only to find out they lost their job, so there are great deals to be had.

hmm i thought i would have some fun and make a list of all the mtb bike i had
gary fisher hookekkoo hardtail
redline hardtail.. bent fisher frame and they would not warrenty it
gt zaskre
gt lts..
storm racing dh frame
gt i drive xc bike
gaint nrs 1 still riding
gaint vt 1 now my all moutnian bike3
gt dhi down hill bike sold once the resorts closed down the big bikes.
and have a giant carbon road bike mixed group on it.

looks like i have pedaled a few miles =)

kul so from $1000-2000 i'll looked into the gt bike a few years back n really liked them. maybe next year, the camera's the main priority. hehe
do u guys ride during fall n winter too?

I find the best time to ride is fall and winter, so much cooler. The only down side is the bike parks like Mammoth and Snow Summit are closed. The upside is its time for Snowboarding, whoop!

Wow, Richard, nice collection... especially that DHi,

wow this thread is on fire.. like the heat. i went up to bigbear and road around summit on friday. lift was closed due to thunderstorms. found a trail that was loaded with purple flowers in the forest.. absolutly stunning.

brett the dhi was nice out of the box. i putt a boxer on it and got ride of the marzochi right away, to shed some weight. honeslty the storm with the inverted white brother forx was a great bike tracked very well. but the dh bike nowadays are awesome i love that giant glory, some of the intense bike and such.

oh yea.. so out of shape. i need to pedal some more =)
