OT Moving from Chicago suburbs to here?

I just sold most of my corals on RC and our house is going on the market. When and if it sells our family is going to move to better weather and better value house prices. We have researched a little and think we like NC, SC, or GA. We are going to take a road trip to Myrtle Beach and hit all theses states on the way there or way back. We will contact realtors and visit neighborhoods and see houses during our trip. Please offer any advice that would lead us in the right direction as this choice is a life changing one. Here’s what we are looking for:

Eastern time zone
Warm weather
No Hurricanes
Fast internet (I work from home)
Great neighborhood and schools for my 5 and 7 year old daughters.
I play ice hockey and softball.
My Girls play softball in which I was the coach.
House price between $350,000-$500,000

Since we both grew up in the suburbs of Chicago (and have been here all our life), we are thinking that as of now the northern suburbs of Atlanta are most appealing to us. But we would love to here any thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.

Thanks
Keith

I think we can hook u up on pretty much everything except two... Whats ice hockey :) we dont ahve any ice here.... ever.... But the Carolina Hurricanes are in Raleigh NC though.... Also that being said they didnt get thier names for no reason... if u check the weather here in about a week you will see tropical storm Bertha heading our way... We do see hurricanes a good bit, but we have been lucky lately.

Thanks for the reply's. From all the research it looks like Northern burbs of Atlanta is exactly what we are looking for. But we will see when we visit this week. After Atlanta my family is going to Myrtle beach for 3 days. Its all about my kids for me, what would my girls( 5 and 7) really enjoy besides the beach?

Thanks in advance.

just be ware the tornados! Lived in Greenville SC about two hours from ATL. Got to be in one of their tornados, march 15th, 2008. If you come to Myrtle beach, visit the Ripleys Aquarium. It's sweet. Good luck to you.

myrtle beach is designed for tourist so im sure your kids will have plenty to do. im not much on bigger cities so i would not recommend atlanta. plus you can get alot more house for your money here. im assuming less traffic. i grew up in myrtle beach and have lived here my whole life, so i don't think i would not be a good person to ask as i see things around here a little different. personaly i feel myrtle beach has gotten to big to fast. roads have not kept up with the growing population. granted they are being expanded but it will take a little time. just come down ride around and see what you think
