OT:Moving to Sacramento

Its a interesting site, I have gone and looked only once and wont go back more then likely. ok 100,000 how many people live in the great state. If i remember right they said a good portion of offenders are not registered because they are homeless cant remember when or where I saw it, some news report

I just dont like the idea, yeah ok nice service to have, but I am a big fanatic of privacy acts and laws, and to me that defies privacy.

if concerned why let them out and rehabilitate , because were all affraid they MIGHT do it again. yes some will, and some have become a model citizen, but why shame them like that.

I just dont like it....

Edwin, I've lost all respect for you:(

Sure, the listings aren't complete and accurate. At the very least, the Megan's Law website shows the names and faces of these sickos. If it saves ONE child from someone like this, http://www.nbc10.com/news/9621055/detail.html , than it's all worth it.

Welll then Im sorry, I dont like it and thats my opinion, If you've lost respect for me because I dont like the Idea, Then Oh well. For that you show how you think of others.

I never once said it was not worth it, I said "I dont like it " Yes it provides a public service, but as i said they served there time.

OK let me clear this up a little

I dont like the Fact of the pictures and home address

The IDEA of it is fine, Even if it was just A picture with zip code, but what gets me is they list the home address to the public.

A picture and zipcode is different, Not as easy to find someone, but you still see whats in your area.

so therefore you are still aware of who/what is in your area.

Does that help justin?

5 years for raping and sodomizing a 5 year old does not constitute as time served nor will it ever in my book. Tell that to the 5 year old that will remember that for the rest of her/his life. Look at the statistics regarding this crap, 28% of those incarcerated will be repeat offenders of the same damn crimes. That's nearly 3 out of every 10 convicted; But "they served there time..." Tra la la la :/

Right to privacy, I agree I hold this very dear with passion and conviction. But how on God's green earth can you advocate for someones privacy when there robbing our children of there privacy and innocence as well.

Dont be the kind of person where it has to hit close to home for you to comprehend the grandscale of things. Im just bewildered I guess......

btw, no it doesnt. Some zipcodes are like 5 mile square radiuses. The likelyhood you or your family will have a run in with the a guy on the otherside of town is very unlikely. But if he's two doors down, I would certainly like to know this before I send my girl to walk to school that btw is only 2 blocks away. I could go on an on but were obviously on different sides of the fence so Im gonna stop.

Everyone in my book is entitled to privacy in my opinion, yes there time served sucks, but who do we blame for that. There in public, they are entitled privacy, they are not entitled from being hidden. So a name, picture and zipcode to me suffice.

Dont be the kind of person where it has to hit close to home for you to comprehend the grandscale of things. Im just bewildered I guess......

Someone close to me was raped and there isnt a day that goes by that I could Take from him what he took from her. Yes , the younger the worse it is. If I had my way, they would be locked up with no outside light, and never see the green grass in there lifetime.

It affects me dearly. writing now at this moment is making me furious inside for what happened.

But My opinion is just that,MY opinion. Saying that someone loose's all respect for an opinion because you disagree. Come on now

Not everyone in this world is going to agree, hence why it has diversity If everyone agreed and had no opinion on issue's, how would this world be.

If people want to judge me for an opinion of one matter, then let it be. It wont change the way I feel or think.

Personaly I think the people of California and the rest of the U.S. have spoken quite clearly that we don't belive that a sex offender's punishment stops at time served. As a society we have decieded that if a person DECIDES to commit one of these acts that part of the punishment shall be that they will be tracked and the public advised of thier past history. To me as soon as the cirminal commited the act they gave up their right of pricacy. They should just be glad I'm not in charge, my punishment for them would be that the first day they are locked up, the gaurds tell the rest of the inmates about the offenerds acts and then the guards leave the cell block for a couple of hours....if the offender survives, then he can serve the rest of his time...

Edwin, you're far more forgiving than I am.

Thankfully, your view is in the minority. The public has very view 'weapons' against them, and Megan's Law is far from enough.

Our society is too lenient on sexual predators, and seemingly, the punishment that's usually given, belittles the crime.

yes i am in the minority so it be.

as to your second comment, yes it is as I said before I would lock them up for the rest of there life and never let them out if i had it my way, but since the prison system is so over crowded, they let these monsters out on the streets.

I am not sure if you know or not, but in the Prison system.... Child molesters and rapist's are looked down as scum of the scum, and most get beaten, killed or raped them selves on the inside...

i can't comprehend your feelings, either. Fortunately, no one I love has ever had to go through what your loved one did. My deepest sympathies.

In your shoes, I fear I'd become 'Paul Kersey':(

Henc having the guards leave the cell block for a few hours when they first come in....give the inmates some "alone" time with the offender....

Ahhhhh yes, That is what I want to do when I hear of the sort.....

yes I know my opinions and what I feel seem to contradict myself, But hey we all have weird opinions at one point or another.

Edwin --

As with past things you have said (and seemingly contradict), I don't think you really meant what you said, and although sometimes a good quality - I think you're too stubborn to admit it.
