OT - My daughter wants a DSLR now.

She's really into animals and this weekend we went to the zoo. Her with her Polaroid P&S and me with my Canon Rebel. She was very upset with her results and announced she wants me to upgrade to the Canon 30D so I can have an 'extra' camera body for her to use. My wife gave me the 'look' when I started contemplating it

Note: It was extremely dark in the reptile/aquatic buildings.

Thats funny......I am just got my DSLR and my 10 year old daughter uses it as much as me. She has already asked for one for christmas.

You've got the best excuse for a camera upgrade! Make use of it.
My wife did give me the look when I tought my 1yr 9months old son to turne the camera on, pop up the flash, look thuogh the viewfinder and take pics with my D70s.
Looked at her as innocent as I could fake and said Honney I think we shuold seriously discuss giving him my camera, i can always get a D80 or 200 instead!

Funny you should mention the D200. Father-in-law just lent me his (trip to Disney in a couple of weeks and needed a long zoom) and he actually wants to give it to me once Nikon comes out with their answer to Canons MkIII. It probably will be a full format or close and won't be able to use several of his lenses. I'm a diehard Canon user and this damn thing has three times the buttons as mine :eek1:
