Hi all!

OT, but I'm proud of my step dad and his team and wanted to post. :)

Last night his team, the Carter Hornets, beat the #1 team in the state, Austin East.

You can read more about it here.

Awesome stuff! He has done really well since he started coaching there a few years ago. They took a risk on him (he had coached at a VERY small k-12 school for a long time) and now he's rising to the task! Needless to say, I'm pumped and super happy for him! :D

Also, according to the article if I understand it correctly, this is the first time the school has made it this far in the tournament stages. If they make it to... well, here (MTSU is where the state championships are ;) ) everyone has to come watch them play! :D

Awesome, man! Thanks! :D

Not sure if they will or not, but if I'm not mistaken the biggest team to stand in their way is weak due to their mainly players having the flu. At least thats the latest rumor I've heard.

We'll see!

I got to go to the second district game tonight (I think it was, anyway) and they won!!!!!!! They are going to the states!!!! This is my step-dad's first time going to the states in 15 years of coaching! I'm extremely proud of him and I'm pumped! Not to mention I'll already be in town to see the game. I told my uncle he could stay with us if he wanted to come up and he asked me if we were close to campus. I said all of 2 minutes away.

Anyway, John, it looks like they'll be playing either Wednesday night or Thursday morning. ;)

This is so awesome!!!!!

BTW, FWIW they beat Union County tonight 67 to 61. To be honest, Union County didn't play very well. They have two main players who shoot a lot of threes. They did great the 1st quarter and after that just seemed to give up for some reason. Kinda weird.

But anyway, the student sections were yelling back and forth and it was quite entertaining! :) Fun stuff...
