OT: NBA Finals!

Unarce

Well, the Finals are set, and my Pistons are done:(

Congratulations to Lebron and the Cavs. I'm glad we lost to a class act like King James.

I'm ashamed to say, but I honestly would rather watch, as a basketball fan, the Spurs and Cavs versus the Spurs and Pistons.

The Pistons lacked 2 of the '3 ingredients' that make a champion, and wouldn't have gone all the way. However, both the Spurs and Cavs do have the '3 ingredients', with the edge going to the Spurs because of experience, Duncan, and the ever important HUSTLE that Ginobili, Bowen, Horry, and Oberto bring to the table.

Like to hear your thoughts on this match-up:)

Hey Karl:

I'm feeling that Chauncey will do a "discount" and become Kobe's sidekick and C-Webb will come at the Vets Minimum to join the Lake Show.

W H A T ???? The Cavs have 1 star, one all star, one good player. Karl, I like your theory but Z, Gibson, and Hughes combined in one body are not an all star. Please don't count Z as one because of his play 4-5 years ago before ankle surgery. This is a feel good story that will end swiftly as the Spurs are too good for the Cavs. PLEASE prove me wrong Lebron!!!! I hate the way the Spurs play and would love to see them lose to the Cavs...that said, it aint gonna happen.

By the way, this question goes out to everyone but Laker fans: If you were starting an expansion team tomorrow, Lebron or Kobe?

John, Where do you score yor dope? :smokin:

I would take Lebron. Just because i like him better and he is classy.

What a pathetic performance by the Pistons.

Talk about a bunch of under achievers.

Cant stand the Pistons, So i was really glad to see them lose.

Agree, Would love to see Cavs take it all. I love MJ always have always will but if Lebron wins this i will have to say he did more with less than anyone is history, even MJ.

That being said MJ is still the greatest no matter what:)

He was not offered John!!! And as a Laker fan, you were banned from speaking on the thread :D!!!!

Btw, with Webber and Billups, Lakers are on the road in the first round!!!

I would take Howard too!

Maybe the Monarchs will make it farther next year.....oops I meant the Queens.......dang it.......Kings.........

Geez... don't forget proven veteran winners like Gooden and Marshall  ...and warn out retreads Snow and Jones...

This goes down as a monumental flop for the Pistons... and I'm a Pistons fan. On paper, the Cavs shouldn't have had a chance. No disrespect to James and the Cavs but the Pistons never even showed up. It was pathetic. Oh... BTW Flip Saunders is a bum... was a bum, always will be a bum.

Makes you wonder... Wouldn't it be interesting if you could swap Webber, Davis, and Mcdyess for say... ... Carmelo Anthony. I know it's a stretch but can you imagine that Pistons line up? Billups, Rip, Sheed, Prince, and Carmelo... if only there was a way it could've happened

Sorry I'm a little bitter right now... :D

And man, do I hate the Spurs! Texas teams in general but especially the Spurs. And I have to say it... Spurs win :(

But I'll be rooting for Cleveland... just like I was made ahuge Jazz fan after the NBA jacked PHX out of the playoffs...

That is all :)

Paul - Big Z's a helluva side kick to have at a very important position in this League. He's the only Cavalier that's been with Lebron all 4 years of his career, and made 2 All-Star teams after his ankle sugeries. His points have dropped off this year with Pavlovic having a bigger role , but he's maintained his rebounding, blocks, and even more important, offensive rebounding.

Gibson has been a big surprise! I think the best thing that happened to Cleveland was Hughes getting injured and finding out just what Boobie was made of. Hughes is a very good player, but he's a tweener and a choker in tight situations.

Flip might lose his job after this fiasco.

Can you imagine if Carlos Boozer hadn't bolted to Utah. How good would the Cavs be right now. By the way, the Lakers can get Boozer for Lamar Odom in a "New York Second".

PUG - The heart and soul, and all my hopes for these Pistons left with Big Ben:( I couldn't expect too much from them after that. Dark times are ahead, as Dumars is too smart to not know that it's time to rebuild. This team is a year older, but none the wiser.

This was Etroit cause the D wasn't there:mad:

Im thinking about getting some next season.......after all, the Kings will probably move to Vegas in the next few years and they will be the only show in town, unless the city and fans starting playing ball.

Ill quit hijacking this now......

Karl, If you are calling Z a star I have to wonder about you. The theory is great but c'mon. You make so much sense, please just admit he is not even close to a star and we can move on :)

Otherwise, you sound as crazy as John!!!

Jeez, I cant beleive anyone would suggest that the pistons D did not show up, and not give props to LeBron.... They had no answer for that kid man... After Thursday night, the only explaination I have for why Detroit lost the serious is because King James showed up, and not that Detroit D did not... Spurs will not stop him either, but they can out score him

Spurs win, but I have to hope that Lebron can drop 100 on them every night, 4 nights straight... I mean he has to be hungry for it now... All we need is the media to give him hell for a few days straight and they will **** him off straight to the title

What determination out of a young man!!!!!!!! Go Lebron!!!! DIE Spurs!!!!!!!!!
Ha

I never said he was a Star player, Paul. Not among the elite. But, he is All-Star caliber, which doesn't have to be much, and is in line with my theory:

There are 3 key ingredients that all Championship teams must have to get to the top.

1. You need at least two All-Star caliber players
2. The team needs to have a strong defensive mindset
3. Team MUST have a workhorse that does all the dirty work

Some teams are lucky, and have more than one Star player, like the Heat. During the Pistons run to a title, they had no Star players, but many All-Star caliber players. The Spurs have one Star (Duncan) and one All-Star caliber (Ginobili).

Spurs aren't worried about Lebron they know if he starts to score to much Bowen will do one of his sly moves "where tons of players always seem to land on his foot' and sprain there ankle.

I did a youtube search on him after the obvious kick he did on Stoudemire. He has a terrible track record. A true dirty/ classless player

I cant believe how bad he was fouling Nash that last game and not one call it was awful, Refs should be fired.

Spurs get away with so many fouls. Trust me the Refs will win it for them.

Go CAVS!
