I am trying to find a laptop with the fallowing:

- 1 gig of RAM.
- All of the windows programs bought and installed.
I don't want to have to pay again for MS Word and all that.
- Wireless card.
- Under $1000.

Toshiba Qosmio...it doesn't meet the last requirement. Give me a few and I'll see what I can round up.

Why are you set on 1 GB of RAM? My laptop has 512 Mb and is just as fast as my tower, which has 1 GB. It't not so much just the RAM, it also has to do with the other equipment and how the computer is configured. For example, my laptop starts up VERY fast...abnormally fast. This is because the company configured it as such. My tower is faster for gaming and everyday processes, but starts up slow. It's mostly in the programming...I'd look at the processor as well. What exactly are you wanting to do with this thing?

Under $1000!!!
Are you kidding me? Easy...there are numerous laptops that you can find for that...I've had Sonys, HPs, Dells, and I won't go with anything besides what I have now which is a Toshiba Satellite...Why do you need a full gig of RAM???
My only suggestion is something I never buy and that is a warranty...#1 almost no manufacturers cover the screens and number 2, the most common problem with laptops is breaking the eyejack which becomes very expensive to do if you have to do it several times. Just watch for sales. DON't BUY A SONY

Also, I'm sending you a pm

That includes a duo core

Also, don't forget to upgrade to 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLifeâ"žÂ¢ for free

$828 after you add MS OFfice to it.

Plus I think you get a free bookbag.

I may be wrong, but I THINK you can use one of the dell coupons that you can buy off of eBay to get like %10 off or something like that. You'd have to look into it, cause I'm not your personal servant and I'm lazy.

Also, if you can wait about 50 days, they always have SUPER deals everywhere on "black friday" (day after thanksgiving)

Also, to save you some money. Go with 512MB then when you find a deal on a 512MB stick buy it. I found one for my comp about 6 months ago and got it for $7. Kingston. I Price matched and got 2 rebates.

I would agree with that..

bought base model computer from dell real cheap and put everything in it my self, got memory and drive and graphics stuff like that cheap at computer show at gateway center in collinsville when they have big computer sale every three months, so basically bought a cheap computer and beefed it up myself. my computer can be uprgraded to 3.0 processor and 4 gig of ram , I need a better power supply so i can get a high end graphics card, nothing but nvidia here though.
