OT - RC Airplanes

Yeah, 2.4Ghz. I am really thinking of getting the DX8 because it has telemetry and can warn you of stuff like low batteries and such. I have actually crashed my heli because I let the battery get too low. The DX8 is supposed to come out in a few weeks hopefully.

I like PAC RC but with the helicopter stuff they are a little lacking sometimes. What really gets me is when they tell me they can order something. I can order stuff myself and get it quicker and probably cheaper and I don't have to drive back to Smyrna to get it. :)

I have only ordered car fuel online once because there was a special on it. All the hazmat junk gets really expensive. If you want your 4 stroke to really run put some 30% heli fuel in it. :D

The 9303 is a pretty good radio. Was actually looking at getting one before I got my 7C. Hopefully Futaba has a response to the DX8 with Telemetry .. I will likely upgrade then.

Last weekend the guys at Smyrna high school moved to a field off of Jefferson Pike. It is an old RC field that a guy owns. There are plane guys there and us heli guys. I flew my helis and also my biplane last weekend.

Nice! If you're there this coming weekend, I may have to have you maiden my new trainer and help me put the 4-stroke on it. ;)

I just saw this Brandon. I will be going out tomorrow. The field is kinda hard to find, you have to turn into a driveway and go through the woods to get there. It is on Mona Rd. right off of Jefferson Pike.

Gotcha, Mike! I think Zach may come up tomorrow, too.

I'm going to try to find a 7/64's hex today as that's all I need to put my 4-stroke on this Avistar. :) Hopefully I'll find one! I had a one in a cheap screwdriver set I got in a Chinese auction at Christmas, but needless to say it was no match for a thread locked screw. Ha!

I didn't get it. If it was through reef central I haven't been getting many notifications for some reason so I guess the e-mail doesn't work either. I'll send you a PM.

Still have that 3W60 Mike? It may have a chance to find a home in a Pitts Challenger in the near future.

Yeah, I still have it. I have been watching the guys fly with the big planes lately and it is almost making me want to keep it. :) I will still sell it though.

Get yourself a big one :) I will be making an order for a DLE30 this week, may as well throw in a 55cc too.

It will be a couple weeks though. I haven't completely decided on the Pitts yet, but it's so pretty. 27%. Doesn't matter either way, the DLE may be lighter anyhow. Do you know how much the 3w weighs?

I see a trailer in my near future.

Today I spent most of the day helping some guys set up their flybarless controllers. I did get a few flights in. I actually had a midair between my 700E and a foam plane. I cut the wing clean off of it. It was a guys wifes plane that he had been teaching her to fly. I also planted my Sig Wonder because the CG was off and stripped a tail gear in my 600N. lol

I just found the manual and it says 5.56lbs. I think that is just the engine and not the muffler! I just looked up the DLE and it says 2.9 for the engine, 3.5oz. for the muffler and 3.9oz for ignition. It looks like it is quite a bit heavier. Why don't you buy it so I can get a DLE if I decide to go big again. :lolspin:

That sounds like an expensive trip to the field! :)

Ooo.

Yea.. about that engine.

I really like the way the Brison 3.2 runs in the Wagstaff. I may look at one of those, too.

Sorry to hear about your trip today. At least it was a foamie - any other could have been pretty expensive for both.

Sweeeet! My new receiver just came in today. I can't pick it up until tomorrow, but I can't wait to put my Futaba on this beast instead of this really old JR! :D

Brandon

Picked up a Cap232 and 1/4.7 scale Piper Cub last night. :) I have no more room, so no more planes :( At least for now. Time to get all these in the air, get tired of them, and then get new ones.
