I'm looking into doind some traveling nursing in the area. I had a phone interview with the nurse manager of the nicu there. I was wondering the buffalo folks thoughts on the hospital and area itself. I know barely anything about buffalo or the area. Thanks in advance.

I rotated through Sisters as a student. Pretty small. Nice spot. I had a good experience there.....11 years ago...

I know your wife was a travel nurse correct? I just started looking with aya healthcare. I got a call today and offers from sisters in buffalo and kapo'icantspellthehospitalsname in hawaii. Id love to go to hawaii, but it would take me away from my family for 8 weeks and the cost of living is high

I worked at Sister's Hospital (Nurse's aide in the ICU) when I was in undergrad. I had a great experience. I've also spent time on the OB/GYN floor, so have had many chances to interact with the nurses in the NICU. The nurses in the NICU are amazing.

My Mom has worked as a nurse there for over 30 years, in both L&D and the operating room. She loves where she works.

I think Buffalo is a pretty awesome place. The city is of decent size (bigger than Syracuse). People are really friendly. I grew up in the suburbs, but went to school in the city (at Canisius, which is right down the street from Sister's Hospital), and I felt safe almost everywhere I went. There's a lot of things to do and places to eat as well. It's really easy to get around.

My wife has family in the area. So I could stay with them and basically bank my housing $. She just has some valid concerns about what happens after my contract is up. I know there are a lot of places out there to travel to. I just don't want to be too far away. I even have an offer for an 8 week assignment in hawaii.
