OT: Who do I call?

Hey guys, it's a sad day for us, my mom's 10 year old poodle got lost yesterday and we are trying to figure it out who can we call, so far we've sent out flyers around the neighborhood, and we are going to see if we can put some flyers at Publix, but not sure what else to do. Thank you guys.

I would call all of the local vets, and the places that stray dogs are taken (don't know who that would be around there, we have a county animal control shelter, and local humane shelters, as well as private places that keep animals until homes are found). Most newspapers will let you run a lost animal ad for free too. Good luck!

Contact all the vets. If you can take them a picture, most of the times, they can notify you. Most people who find pets and plan to keep them get their shots done because they aren't sure if they are done.

Thank you guys, the flyers worked! we just got a call from a lady that found our dog!!!

Hooray!!! I'm so happy for you and your mom and the dog!

I would be a basket case if I lost one of my dogs...glad to see a happy ending for you.

Or chip him, its a quick injection most vets can do. Like 80% of local vets and all the pounds should be scanning the animals for chips when they are picked up.

My dog is chipped. You notify them and they ever send out e-mails to all people registred to receive the messages int he area. I get them once a week or so for lost dogs and cats in Gainesville.
