OT: Your other hobbies besides reefing...

It could have been, took the downpipe off and there was just crazy play in the wheel... so hopefully nothing else is trashed...

Til it leaks, pops, or blows up. :p
How long does the built motor run on average?

I was into cars for a while and it's just not cost effective. For the best thrill to $$$, you can't beat a bike. There's nothing like full throttle second gear runs on a big bore sportbike short of skydiving or having jets strapped on you.

I don't even ride on the streets much anymore. A couple trackday weekends a year and my fix is met.

For less than the cost of a built motor you can have a bike that'll be able to run 10 flat and more than 140mph in the quarter mile. AND corner like a racebike.

All that with a warranty!

That said, if it rains, snows or it's freezing, game's over.

I know bikes are fun, but I drive like a douchebag so I know ill kill myself. I've ridden a few bikes of friends and know the fun factor, just like to have metal around me when some old man not paying attention decides he can turn into the street.

EVERYONE I know with a bike has atleast laid them down once. Some of them really bad, others not as much. I've had them dump bikes doing tricks, and get hit sitting still at a light. You name it.

That new motor is as bulletproof as possible that's why I'm building it right the first time. Should be 550-600 RWHP while NA, and then a 250 shot ontop of that when at the track or "as needed".

Thats one hell of a motor...

Thanks..... It's a Dart block'ed 427 cubic inch stroker. Should be fun once it's finally in the car. Buying a house threw a big 'ol wrench into everything and has slowed down progress with it. I'm at the point now where even the "cheap" parts are around $500 each so it should be done in Spring if all goes well.

I was at Autobahn in Joliet and was keeping up with a Porsche... then all of a sudden lost boost. then some noise.... Oh well, it was on it's way anyways. It's going to AMS performance Wednesday.

I go to autobahn a couple times of year as well. Pretty fancy cars there. I understand it's a private track with some pretty high membership fees.

Fortunately, they lt us "hooligans" on through sportbiketrracktime.com.

For such a short course, the north side is my favorite to get on and ride.

Naw, you're right. After about 30 minutes on a sportbike, I'm gassed. (Although I did ride from Kansas City to Chicago and back a couple times)

In a car you can actually let your mind wander and enjoy things. Having 550+hp on top of that is cool.

BTW, ever watch that shortlived Supercars series on Speed where they ran different high end cars head to head? Some tuners too. Cool cars, bad hosts.

I don't think I even have the speed channel. I know it used to be a paid channel but I don't have any extras on my cable though....

I'm not dissing bikes in ANY way, so I hope nobody thinks that, I just know they're not a good choice for me. They're definitely a ton of fun for the money, but knowing how I would drive it if I had one all the time I know they're not for me. :lolspin:

agreed. i love sport bikes. but i just feel like i'd get to a point where i'd get too comfortable on one and start pushing the limits... and thats where the danger lies. haha

I don't know awhole lot about cars, but I DO enjoy joining fast (and at times sideways lol) I autocross BMWs with my dad (Windy City BMW Club). Been out on the autobahn (rented the course for 3 days), Putman Road Course, Tire-rack course, Road America, etc. Either a '97 M3 or a '04 Z4... personally love the Z4 but it's a convertable w/ no roll-cage (...as of yet lol) so it can't be taken on some tracks.

well.... i dont know much about cars or bikes.... well besides the specs it comes with :)

i like them both... i own a SUZUKI M50 boulevard and just traded my S-line A6 for this baby... my second week with it. and is just as much fun as my bike... so it will be tough to decide what to take when spring will come around....

if you own a LOTUS and wanna hang out... pm me.. maybe you can also show me some mods.. :)

**** don't pay attention to my friend in the back... he was more excited about the car than i was :) *****

Riding season is about over =(.

Looks like car heads and reefing go hand and hand...

Its a Yamaha fz6 modded with a fz1 headlight. You should take the class to get your licenses man, we'll ride out.

Outside of my real job, I'm heavily involved in Mixed Martial Arts, in fact I get hired internationally several times a year to set up/consult for larger promotions...

Nice, I used to go to Curran a lot, but I own a business and couldn't keep it up, I miss it, was taking both Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu... Hopefully in the future I will get back into it...
