Ouch! Sand in maximas mantle!!!

Hi,

I just discovered that there was SAND in my 1" maximas mantle... it makes a nice sand trap... I flipped him over to try to shake it out, but what else can I do?

Move him to a hard surface??

Leave it in there for a few years then dump out a pearl! LOL j/k

I have gotten sand in my clams' siphons before as well, i just turned them over to get most out and didn't worry about the rest.

I used to blow mine off with a turkey baster but I think this bothered them more than the sand. Clams are quite capable of "coughing" out sand if it's bothering them.
