Our 375 Gallon project

melev- Thanks.....slowly but surely. I am not a very patient person but that is one thing this hobby is teaching me.

alien9168- The frames on each side are not steel- they are wood and they are the frames for the cabinets that will be on each side of the tank. Once I get a little further along it will all make sense (at least to me I guess) :)

clkwrk- I said I wouldn't show the actuator till it's done :D. I may show the actuator in action soon but I won't reveal the "how it works" part till everything is 100% complete.

Don't have any updated cabinetwork pics to show but I do have a few pics of some new corals we got recently-

Blue tort and you can just see a piece of the red cap that was attached to the base of it-

This one is called a "flashlight" coral- not sure if that's a real name or just what someone called it but the picture doesn't do it justice- it is really blindingly bright neon green. It is about 6 or 7" across-

Blue tort looks awesome. Most are posting pics of their tiny frags - nice to see a little colony to know that it's possible to attain.

sidewinder770 - I've been following your thread almost since the beginning and you've done a great job! A while back you said you were going to write somethings that could help sk5220 users. Just wondering your thoughts because I should be getting my sk5220 in a few weeks and I plan on pushing it with the 200W tunze pump. Thanks.

Scott, I just read from page 1 to 21 the last two days. I love the tank. I have been planning a 300 tenecor reef for about a year now. I am glad that I came across your thread. I have several questions. first is what is a om4 and where do you get it? I understand that it is a 4 way. Is it anything else then that? The next thing I did not see was info on your lighting what DE MH do you have and how did you hang them? Thank you for all the info. I have learned alot and I have been in and out for the last 15 years. Can't get away.

tigershark4, here is where you can get the OM website: http://oceansmotions.com/ The 4-ways really are great pieces of equipment for creating random flow. I've used 2 of them on my CL's ever since they first came out.

Travis - What pump are you running on your OM 4-way? I am going to use my OM 4 way on a CL and am thinking about running a Sequence Hammerhead. My tank will be 550 gallons.

I second the OM 4-way! They are a great product. I run mime off a hammerhead and get great random flow in the tank.

Both of my 4-ways are run by Sequence 5800's.

Dudester- The blue tort is cool. He'll get to be pretty big before we frag it. We've already decided not to frag anything until it's at least softball size :) Some will be bigger than that- we love to see large colonies and want to keep all our fairly large as well.

kimoyo- Yeah- sorry- just haven't been able to find the time to do a good write-up on it. I can say it's a great skimmer- we just had a few cosmetic issues to work out with Brent (which we are still working on). I do have a few concerns with it's operation but nothing that would keep me from saying it's a great skimmer- I'm sure you'll like yours and please post a pic of it when you get it- I'm curious to see a few things on it and compare the 2. I'll try to post somethign soon but to compare with yours would be great as well.

tigershark4- Travis pointed you in the right direction for the 4way. It's a great device and I highly recommend one. I run mine off a Sequence Dart but you can use a pump that puts out up to 6000gpm from what I hear- Just be sure to not put much back pressure on it or the drum will not rotate correctly. as for my lights- we are running 4- 250w DE Phoenix 14k bulbs. I am using Icecap ballasts and PFO pendants. I love the look and growth but I need to fill in some gaps a little and plan on adding some T5's once I get the skinning done. They are mounted to a aluminum light rack which moves up and back with the actuator as well as the actuator lifting the front of the canopy. I can try to get some closer pics of the light racks if you want?

Here is an updated pic. Doesn't look much different but I have 4 big pieces still outside drying that are not in place yet. Hopefully those will be on in the next few days and the stand front will be stained. Still a few weeks left but I will try to post some new pics when I can. You can see the side cabinets a little better in this one and it gives you an idea of the final stain color as well-

Scott, Thank you for the info. ? Why did you go with the icecap ballast instead of the pfo dual ballast. I have 2 sunlight supply 250 w hqi on my current tank. happy so far I have been looking at there 72" fixture with t5 and 3 hqi mh. I would like to have a fixture without a canopy. I love the look of the Giesman but to much $ I love your tank and I keep showing the boss so that she lets me purchase a 350g 96x36x24

Hey, I can finally post here again!

Here's the stand I built yesterday:

Nice stand. Whats it for?

Sorry, it's for my new 180. Sidewinder asked me to post a pic of it here when it was done, but yesterday RC wouldn't let me reply to this thread...

Scott: I just subscribed to this thread...Great Job!
I'm currently working on my 300+ tank (planning/quotes), and I just sent off a custom quote form to Tenecor. Are you happy with the quality of the tank? I have to go through the 20+ pages of your thread, but could you PM any info on the tank? I know $$ are always a touchy subject, but I'm just trying to get an idea. I've only gotten one other custom tank manufacturer to actually respond to a quote request.

Keep up the good work!
