Our 375g reef tank build & fish room

My Sanjay Photons
I purchased this pair of clowns from Sanjay in September 2012, (Sanjay's Photons) They were successfully breeding in his system...
Tonight is the first time they spawned for me...
I think the clutch is small maybe +/-100 eggs
You will probably want to turn the volume down some, I was trying to hide behind my protein skimmer so they wouldn't see me... I didn't want to scare them......

I had just mentioned to Ed yesterday, that I thought we should knock the bottom of the pot out for more water flow for the eggs, plus if the female get to aggressive with the male he would have an escape.... I guess we waited to long

PLUS, 2 of my Banggai males are holding eggs, and the 3rd females looks like she is full of eggs!

I guess you could say today is breeding day in the fish room!

That's going to be a whole lot of child support.:lol::lol: Hope you can keep up with the payments.

We have all the equipment and food already, so its just a matter of my time at this point. :wavehand:

My Ocellaris clown fish is ready to lay her eggs today too, So I will be really busy with babies in 8 days!

How long did you sit in front of the tank to capture that video? Oh were you at the TBRC in August and were you talking to Tony Vargas?

I knew she was going to lay eggs that day, and they lay them between 4-5 in the after noon, so I started peeking in the fish room around 4:30, and there they were laying the eggs, so I only sat in front of the tank long enough to shoot the video and left them alone.

Yes, we were at the TBRC, and yes we meet Tony, Julian and Matt.

I think I meet you too, now that I think about it... We were talking about my camera and pictures...????

Those Photons are awesome Sandy!

Congrats on all your breeding succcess!

Thank you Bax... I have been waiting since September for them to finally settle down and start laying eggs again! :love2::love2::love2:

I can't be more excited... The clutch is developing nicely, the parents aren't ever too far from the clutch and dong what nature tells them to do, so in 5 days we should have new Photon babies, in 6 days we will have Ocellaris babies and in 17 days we will have baby Banggai's , I'm going to be really busy in the fish room making food and feeding babies, and a lot of maintenance on the tanks!!!

The tank looks great! Love the Seahorses, always wanted to try some in my refuge. Are you planning to raise the Seahorses in the future along with the Cardinals/Clowns?

Thank you!

The seahorses have their own setup, they have a 65g tall. Yes, I do raise seahorse too! :love2::love2::love2:

The Ocellaris are in a 40g breeder with a pair of Banggai.

We have 7 tanks running right now, with plans on upgrading to a module type of system... soon I hope....

What a great tank and wonderful fish room. You will love the apex for control. Great thread. Thanks for sharing.
