Our 450g reef, 360g predator tanks

They tried to deliver yesterday, they left a note saying it's COD. ummm, ok. It was paid in full. So I sent J&L Aquatics an email asking about that. In the meantime we changed the Ship Too address to my work. They didn't show up. I even sat in the parking lot after the building was locked down waiting for two hours for the driver because they said it was out for delivery.

Now they aren't sure where it's at. I hope it shows up tomorrow. I actually almost feel sorry for them because Patti is on the case now. The last time they messed with one of our packages, she made them find someone to bring it out to our house at OUR convenience. The poor guy was shaking, he was so scared.

Without a doubt, Frankie. I bet it would tick the driver off if I said "Hold on! I'm not signing until I unpack it, plug it in, and make sure it works! This will only take an hour or two."

PFO does a fantastic job with packing though. Heavy box inside of a heavy box and everything is packed in form fitting Styrofoam.

That is a very good bet Terry! All is well at my end. I have a few LSP corals coming & I'm trying a different salt mix. Most important is a set of fans very soon. Later!

That's awesome, Jason. Megan is SO lucky to have a dad like you. :)

If I remember right, you have your tanks plumbed together, don't you? Including Megans? If so, then it sounds like it's simply a flow issue within her tank.

That was the original plan, but I figured... #1: more holes in the floor might be grounds for a divorce... and #2: if one system ever goes sour, we have a cycled backup that may save some stuff. I'm sure her tank does have flow issues. I have thought about putting a sump on it, and getting a real skimmer for it. It would be easy enough to do.. Just have not really put much thought into it. We might add a koralia as well...

Jason

Uh oh, I just noticed that you work for UPS, cracker. No offense intended! :D

What salt are you trying? I switched to RC and the numbers look great! The only complaint that I have with it is the amount of time it takes to disolve.

Jason, that is a VERY valid concern. I thought long and hard before I plumbed the predator tank into the reef system. I'm really glad that I did though. I see pieces of silverside and krill floating around in the reef and the fish go nuts eating it. Those pieces came from the predator tank feeding. My nitrates are easily kept at 10 and under now too, in all tanks. So it's healthier for the predators too.

But I also understand the holes in the floor concern. I get the "rolling eyes" look too.

No offense taken what so ever! 26 years was long enough for me. I no longer wear the brown uniform! That's another subject.
I look forward to see how the beast evolves!

Well, we had UPS changed the delivery option so I could pick it up at the service center. I just checked... It's out for delivery...

:mixed:

No fun about the lights! Have you tried to count how many times UPS has said "I'm sorry" to you? I hope it gets resolved soon! I stopped by to see if you'd gotten them yet . Sorry to hear of the run around!

They now say it should be delivered by 3 pm. Patti asked them "So if it doesn't show up by three, we can pick it up at the service center?" They said yes.

uh huh.....

UPS is pretty good about delivering packages UNLESS there is an exception. Then GOOD LUCK with trying to find it and get it into your hands.

The tiny little yellow tail is doing great in the 450. He still hasn't ventured far from the initial cave he has found. Maybe he is scared because he can see the predator tank.

Hello All - No Barb - I have given up counting - I would bet it's around 150-200 times now.....I have NEVER seen such a horrible company to try to get answers from! It has been the BIGGEST pain in the hind end - and they are now telling us the same thing they told us yesterday "it's out for delivery" Yeah right....like sure I am going to believe them today! Customer service really stinks - what happend to people who really care about their jobs? Not one of them could care less - it's all just pass the buck and blame some one else and say "I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this" as if they really care - if they truly cared they'd get on the damn phone and find the package! OK now I am finished my ranting and raving (see I am a lunatic just like Terry said ;))

I hope that everyone is having a terrific Thursday!

Hopefully (fingers & toes crossed, at this point that's all I have left to do, as we are at their mercy and they just don't give a crap) we will have lights up tonight and can provide new pics!

The light is in our VAN! :celeb1:

The package didn't look too bad. I'll find out tonight if we need to continue the saga with UPS...
