Our 75g at six months!

Now bubble algae free thanks to a few good emerald crabs, we figured it would be a good time to share our 6 month old 75. Only thing we might change in the next six months would be our bulb choices. Right now we have 2 Blue Plus, an Aquasun, and a SuperActinic; we'd like to swap the AquaSun for a different bulb like an AquaBlue or a ProColor.

Gorgeous.. How is the growth with so much actinic?
Despite all the 'actinic' lighting, there is still plenty (too much?) of light going into the tank: we accidentally bleached the two hammers and the fungia on the right side by removing our light-acclimating screens too early. In addition, our SPS have shifted their growth mostly to encrusting and some of the more picky specimens have bleached slightly, but not enough to worry. So, the growth is great and the colors are fantastic, especially when there's just a blue plus and the super actinic on!

Do the emerald crabs ever try to catch your fish???
I had one that would.
Haven't had problems with any of the emeralds trying to catch fish so far. There is one very large one, pictured above, at about 3 inches across, and there are two smaller ones at about 1.5 inches across; none have ever bugged any fish or the shrimp, and we are actually considering removing them all now that their job is done.

Beautiful Tank and Awesome Pics!! Make sure your Green Stars dont take over the Tank!
Oh it is very well isolated: that entire rock does not touch any other rocks except on the back left side where there are some mushrooms keeping the GSP at bay. Apparently GSP does not like to grow downwards, and that would be the only way it could overtake the mushrooms and grow off that one, 30-pound rock.

Cheers,
