Our Mini 425 Ocean

is it taste in food(picky) or just a bad shipper and then eventually they stop eating or just plain die on you.I would also think who you get it from may help.I have seen my stores that a=just shove the fish all together and bad water quality.Then you buy the fish and its a toss up even though you take care of it.I have seen some white cheeks at the pet store but forget witch one of the 2 they were.I wouldn't buy one because I have the pbt and they would probably fight.I also have 6 tangs witch is more than enough in a 300 gal tank.
 
Yeah guys I agree it is a hit and miss. I do like to keep them feed and happy. I also think the more I add the more little pieces of base rock thrown in to give them each little better hiding places. I don't want a lot more tangs but I would love a purple and maybe a kole. I can always trade one of the 3 yellows for a different tang. I do like how they look when they swim together though.

I put one of my crabs in my overflow. He eats anything. I wonder if he will eat some of the aptashia in this over flow.

I picked up a CB today. I have him drip acclimating right now then he will go in the little QT. I only bought 1 pepper mint since they were like $10. I will probably order a few later when I get some snails.

Yeah, I was just about to oder the reefflo 200 and figured I would give it a shoot for the price. I was hoping it would be here today. It is only about 3 hours away according to tracking. Tomorrow would be great I might be able to get it operation this weekend. I was thinking if it doesn't work out down the road I will go with the reefflo 250.
 
True true. Good price on a BIG skimmer. You might like it a lot. Just read up on MRC beckett skimmers and keep those beckett injectors clean. I'm sure it will pull a LOT for you.

yeah that is the same thing I read that people complain about. keeping them clean.. At least it will make me clean it more often. i will post pics for sure...
 
ReefSafeNija - i was looking at your pics then i remembered who u r..Cool man ..Glad to have you back..You should try and scrub some of that siphon it out with a couple weekly water changes
 
Its all scrubbed down and clean.I posted new pics.Tank is much better.I have tried everything to kill the HA nothing works.3 types of sea hares that were supposed to eat the HA and nothing.All they did was die in the end.Nothing beats the power of a good scrub.

FYI if you are really keen on getting rid of your aptaisia, you can always get a syringe and inject them with lemon juice. You'll know you got it if it turns a bright purple and swells like a balloon about 10 minutes after you started.
 
My CB is in Qt right now. I just couldn't get my hang on back filter to work. I am starting to like him more and more I hope he makes it. There are 3 aptashis piece in the Qt and he has not touched them yet,,

I got some of the Carib sea special reef floor sand for the first layer of my plenum in the fuge. It is suppose to help with PH and all that good stuff. I think I will get 2 more bags to mix in the top with.

Now I need to finish my stand fro the r/o storage. I think I am going to put all my reactors under the 150 fuge. I am going to see if I can squeeze the skimmer in to the left of the fuge. I might have to reduce the size of that work bench. I am running out of room. I am starting to become an equipment junky without a lot of equipment .hehehehe

This part of it was nerve racking for me because I could never catch him eating them. But he constantly was hunting in the rock. Even after i put him in the display, I NEVER saw him eat one, yet they are all gone.

In fact, tonight I put a rock with some in the display to give him a treat. I am propagating them (and I use that term very loosely) in my overflow.

And reef safe ninja: Your fish are just stupid.

eric I don't know about using egg crate in the tank.I think thats what was causing my HA to bloom but I can't be 100%.I can tell you my make bin,top off container and ro storage bin had no PO4 leeching from them.It seems it was that or I wasn't rinsing my home made food.I am currently rinsing the homemade food.My skimmer should be handling my system without any problems.We shall see what happens from now on.
