Out of Africa (picture intensive)

Ok been awhile , I have had alot of changes going on in real life and as well as my reef both being dynamic systems
In january after having built up alot of sps in the middle sections I had an outbreak of monti -eating nudis, following this I decided to add natural biocontrol to deal with this pest as dips were not feasible, 10 months later I seem to be winning only one colony was lost and damage is getting less every day.

What follows are pics of new additions and biological controls for nudi pests:

Halichoeres chloropterus

this guy was tiny when I added him, he has grown fast and is quite aggressive but hasnt caused too much trouble - a good nudi eater

Haliocheres salmofasciatus , red striped wrasse rather rare at least for us they are, id say its mediocre at dealing with nudis but I love it.

Haliocheres ornatissimus? Not sure if it is as still a juvie and cosmetus looks similar but this is excellent and my best wrasse for hunting and eating nudis so far!

macropharyngodon bipartitus got a pair, beautiful wrasses and also good nudi eater.This is the male

Haliocheres iridis, radiant wrasse this one is a little different he has a genetic deformity I think his mouth looks like a beak have not seen this before it doesnt hamper him and also an average nudi eater.

My mystery wrasse moved from the middle to the right hand compartment where majority lps are, my flame wrasse pair lived there and soon both vanished .. I suspect this was due to the Mystery as he is a nasty fish but he now shows little desire to return to middle section so I acquired a pair of lineatus for middle. They dont eat nudis but are very beautiful.

Ok now this fish im very excited about , its a deepwater 'hogfish' Terelabrus sp. from indian ocean.This fish has tons of personality it does not act like a hogfish at all in my opinion has a
Small mouth and is very peaceful and timid. It does stay out in the open alot though.

Its truly beautiful and perfect for a reef, it doesnt bury in sand at night but seems to rather sleep under rocks near the sand and form a mucous cocoon around it- really an awesome fish imo.

Some key replacements I was able finally after 2 years to get a new female trigger for my crosshatch...so the mating dance is back on and finally my male crosshatch can show of his awesome spawn colouration
This comes after the previous female died from a cymothia exigua shown earlier in thread, happy days for the male!!

got this guy to replace my full grown clown trigger who passed away from old age after spending more than a decade with me, this baby I can only hope will be with me as long!

Kabe 87, Humaguy- thank you! Humaguy (cant wait to see your peppermints) am a fan of your aquarium ! bandit is now about 13.5 cm from mouth to tail.

Elliot- thank you ! yes the achilles sometimes shows some white spot but it comes and goes and it never seems to bother it much at all, it is highly susceptible to ich as are most in that family.I think their skin offers little to no protection from that parasite

auem - hi yes The golden pygmy is still going strong in the soft coral section

you can see him to the left of relatively new Matted Filefish (Acreichthys tomentosus) on the right who sorted out my hundreds of pest majanos in that section within one week they were all gone! i can really say the fish is wonderful to eliminate aptasia and majano ! and while in quarantine that is what i fed him to acquire a taste!
The golden pygmy angel is very hard to photograph.
