Hey everyone,

im going to the outer banks next month, staying in corolla...the house i rented is 300 ft from the beach...can anyone give me some beach dive areas to try out that are in that area?
TIA

your best bet would be to ask a local. I am from further south and dont know of any inshore wrecks up that far but they are there. Kittyhalk is you best bet for a dive shop. And there is one way down in Hatteras. You can pic up a chart for pretty cheap that shows all the known wrecks. Good luck. If you were coming down to the sobx I could show you some sights that would knock your socks off. ;)

Thanks guys for the info...im really not sure how the week is going to pan out...im hopin to do a boat dive...but if that doesnt happen, im bringing my 8.5' dingy and outboard so i just might be able to find something off the beach easily..i love diving places ive never been to!!

Thanks again...and happy diving

i ve aslways wondered if the diving is any good in the obx. It seems the water is not very clear though, so i never tried it.

Redox. How clear is the visiblilty and what is down there in so obx? my cousin lives in kill devil hills and ill b there next mo.

thanks

inshore dives usually dont have that great vis(30')depending on tide. I have seen 100' vis on wrecks about 7 miles offshore. Lots of ship wrecks lots and lots of all different ages and nationalities;)

WOW.....30 feet vis?????/ thats awsome...lol... i live in Ct and would LOVE 30' vis...so many times if i can see 10 feet i think im in the carribean!..although night dives on a full moon are awsome.
you guys are spoiled...LOL:D

yea but some days.....its silty. Thats why you really cant plan ahead. When its good you just have to take off work and go. Youve heard the words "surfs up" .;)
