over heat

i have a 25 gallon tank and i want to get this mh.

the 24" 280W but not all is mh.

will it over heat my tank. what can i do to help it.
also i would like to get a cover that would keep fish from carpet surfing i heard that eggcrate is good but cant find any can someone give me a link.

I'm using 2 actinics and a 250 metal halide in a 52 gal in a cool room, and flight heat just a bit: summer is going to require a fan in the sump, I'm sure.
