tunze 9004

tunze 9004

Can you tell me what chamber should the Tunze 9004 go in? I heard maybe only 1 or 4? Is this true and is that the right place for it? I'm new to all this.

Thanks for your help

Yes, those two are the only ones it will fit in. I used 4 (far right) since it was in corner of room for me and I wanted easier access to 1.

rtanskter thanks for the reply,

I am new to this so i assume that you just got rid of one of your media baskets and put the skimmer in its place?

Also, are you running a ATO? If so which one?

I don't currently have any media baskets, I have a filter sock in chamber 1, thinking about running chaeto in a media basket in there though. I have the osmolator nano for ato.

tunze osmolator 3155 is one of the more popular ATOs used around here. A bit more money but it comes with an electronic eye and a float switch for extra protection. Works amazingly

A little mrs wages pickling lime mixed into a paste with ro water. Cover the aptasia with it through a syringe.

I had some calcium, so I shot some at it lol...hopefully it works.
I read some where that a peppermint shrimp may be able to clean up my issue. So I might get one of those guts temporarily, since I already have a blood shrimp settled in my tank.

I run it in #1 (left side) but 4 will work. It fits well with the little lip for the media basket - no need to remove that.

I have the 3155 running as well. I ended up moving the high water sensor off the base unit and attaching via the second magnet higher up on chamber 4, because the alarm will go off every time you put your arm in the tank otherwise. Much better now.

Guys i've been running my 40 fusion for almost a year now, love this tank but i'm not convince the ghost skimmer is doing squad for this tank. Anybody else notice the same or have change over to a different skimmer with better results?

Innovative marine 40 - ATO problems

Innovative marine 40 - ATO problems

ok everyone I have a problem. Keep in mind Im new to the game....

I purchased a Hydor Smart Level Control ATO System. That system doesn't come with a return pump so I had to but one. Keep in mind the top of my tank is almost 6' high.

So here is where the problem lies......

When the sensor would recognize that the water was low the pump would turn on and start flowing water. But the pace was extremely fast and by the time the sensor sensed that it was high enough the water level was too high. I went to the store 3 different times and tried 3 different pumps. They were wither to fast with too much water or couldn't even get the water to the top of the tank.

So I am thinking about going to a Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155??????

Any thoughts? Who has that tunze? you like it?

I am debating on buying a used IM40. I currently have a nanobox small retrofit on my 15g and I would like to use it on the 40 along with 2 24" retrofit t5's. I have a few SPS, hammer, frogspawn and a bunch of zoas.

Would this be enough light to cover the 40 if the SPS where in the center.

I will probably end up making either a full hood or a black acrylic enclosure to hang for the lights. I need something that is fairly close to the top tank or fully enclosed because I don't want my little ones standing at the tank looking straight up at the lights.

Any thoughts?

I have also been looking at the kessil a360we, says its coverage is enough for 24". That on a gooseneck would work also.

I have completed "Operation No Rats' Nest"

Josh that build looks great! If I am not mistaken do I see a child lock?? Oh I know about a child getting into the cabinet and messing things up:clown:

Sorry I have been away. I am reworking my golf swing so I have been at the range and on the course in free time... all these expensive hobbies!!

1. I like the ghost skimmer.. it takes time to dial it in and at the beginning, I had a love hate relationship...now she is dialed in and pulling out so much crap it is not even funny...

2. I like the idea of splitting the 3155 sensors....the only concern i have if the eye fails, once the water gets to the other sensor would it be too late and water is over the side?

3. I use the G3, with the T5 it may not be powerful to get the bottom of the 40.. I started the 40 with the G3, so i did not have to go through headaches with lighting.

Love that more people are joining the 40 forum... keep it up!
