I did'nt put the cover it'll just clogged it. Besides i have a filter floss on my media rack so i don't see the need for covers

How did you plumb it? Stock hoses don't fit... just curious, I rigged something up but I'm getting micro bubbles and I'm curious if it's the pump or what because I didn't have them with the stock pump.

I love my Radions, ghost skimmer, and stock pump. I have had issues with each one of them, but it was partially my fault.
1) radions:choosing the specific settings for "my tank" not anyone else. I love how the unit looks, it's clean and sleek.
2) ghost skimmer: adjusting it just right. Mostly it was the installations. Reading IM GHOST skimmer manual really helped. I placed mine in the second chamber with the input of the skimmers pump facing the first chamber. Placing the skimmer as close as possible to the first chamber gives the skimmer room and prevents the microbubbles. I enjoy not looking at my skimmer, it is tucked in and disappears in the back chamber.
3) stock pump:it made noisy, reduced flow, rattled.... I took it out, cleaned it in a vinegar bath. Then I tightened up the output nozzle and tucked it underneath the third chamber, had the "y" as close to the fourth chamber. This gave me room for my heater, ATO, and the return lines.

Either option, I'm sure you'll enjoy your tank and experience growth!
Your tank looks awesome!! I noticed your running 2 mp10's, do you have it on the lowest setting? I would of thought it was overkill I'm a tank that size but I'm clearly wrong. Do you have issues with your sandbed?

I didnt change anything. I didn't buy a hose adaptor. What i did was simply inserted the hose into the pump's stock adaptor. The hose was small enough to fit into it. just try to fit it as snhg as you can.

Do any of you guys having issues with the maxspect gyre? I have ot on 30% anymore than that then my sand gets carried away. I hate bald spots on my tank.

Right now, I have both of them around 60-65, with several different functions throughout the day. (Gyre, reef crest, pulse, calm) I did this to replicate the ocean of course lol. As for the sand bed, no issues. Just had them pointed at an opposite LPS, or rock helps prevent sandstorms.

Any chance anyone on here has a ghost skimmer they want to sell?? Just thought I'd ask on here first. Lmk

Yea. I liked them but you have to have at least 2-4 sets. So you can rotate them, wash the others repeat. It was too much work. I tried different ways, but I felt this was the best.

I'm on the edge of either keeping them or getting rid of them completely . I'm running a tunze 9004 and a bioreactor along with the socks now

Other than the hassle of switching them out, was there any other reason why you want to dump em?

Nice found this thread,

Started a few Weeks ago.

IM 40
IM reactor
IM caddy 1 (Converted it to a cheato reactor, attached a 24w adjustable color LED to the back with velco, So far almost double my cheato growth in 1 week)
IM caddy 2 (sponge/few rocks/purigen)
Hydor 2x240 wave maker
Hydor ATO (with OE pump in 5 gallon top off)
Hydor mini protein skimmer
Custom made stand (I think the IM stand is low quality for the price built mine for under 80 dollars)

40 pounds of live rock
40 pounds of live carb sand (love the smaller grain)
Aquatic life halo mx80
Just the clean up crew for now had it go through a cycle again so waiting for it stabalize. (2 red leg hermits, 1 turbo, 1 green crab)

My first tank, things I have learned... I should have picked up a red sea (The first IM40 I bought had problems with the silicone not being applied correctly, the second one had bad pumps and return tubing, causing micro bubbles). I should have used special live rock glue instead of epoxy and patience...

Maybe you just had a bad luck reef streak!! I was debating on going with a red sea, but they ain't perfect neither. Not to mention hardly any stores carry red sea accessories, I've read reviews on peeps who struggled to get replacement parts which dragged for over a week.
