Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

How hard is it to get the pump in place? I called Bulk Reef Supply to ask about the pump. They recommended they Sicce 1.5. But isn't that defeating the whole purpose of a pump upgrade? The 1.5 moves less water that the stock pump.

I installed the 2.0 without issues. Just went to HD for the hose barb fitting and removed all the crap on the pump you don't need (flow adjustment, rear cover, etc). Fit is snug but it comes out easy enough. Personally I wouldn't want less flow running to the rear than the 2.0 delivers.

Here is my Nuvo 40 just over a month in. Much smaller than my previous setups but should be fun. I'll be running a full zeovit system so we'll see how things go. Here are some pictures:

UPS SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!!!!!!!

Walked outside tonight to find the box with my Nuvo 40 stand and a smaller box with the IM return spinners and no box containing my tank. Called Marine Depot to confirm what I already KNEW... UPS damaged the tank during shipping. So now I gotta wait another week for the tank. I'm really ****ed because I'm home the rest of the week and was hoping to have everything transferred from my JBJ 28g Nano before the weekend. Oh well...

You're lucky they sent you the right tank. I ordered a Nuvo Fusion 40 and was sent a Nuvo 40 black that does not have built in filter. Called about being sent wrong tank and took over a week for them to finally send the correct tank. After couple days of waiting I called them to see what the delay was and was told it would be sent out next day but that became close to a week. I'm thinking they were trying to check with warehouse to check stock to confirm if they indeed sent wrong tank even though I was gonna send wrong tank back in new box.

Marine Depot is hit and miss sometimes. They send your items really fast if you buy a certain amount but will take their good old time if it's below that amount. Also, I was kinda disappointed with their dry live rock. I ordered a box of nice shelf rock but when I opened box a got a big piece of heavy branch that was broken into 3 pieces. After that experience I'm not sure if I'll order premium dry live rock from them again.

Hello All, been reading quite a few post and wanted to start mine. Been out of hobby for awhile, and got the bug to get back in. My new tank will be the IM 40 Nuvo Fusion. It will be a reef set up with mostly LPF and Ricordeas. Stand is being built at local store (not sure if I'm allowed to share stores name location). Looking foward to hearing everyones thoughts on this.

Equipment;
IM 40
AI Hydra 26
Ghost skimmer
Live Reef sand
25 lbs dey rock (for now) (Curing local store)
Custom stand (local store)
IM ATO Tank
Smart ATO
Custom Caddy
Maybe Sock?

Future;
IM10
IM Reactors (GFO)
Refugium in Caddy?

I'm more upset with UPS. They're the ones that caused the damage to the tank. I have another issues now... I didn't have time this week to open the box for the stand to build it. I finally got around to it Friday night, (tank should be here Monday). When I opened the box to the stand, the first piece I took out, the door, was damaged on this finished side!!!

I can't catch a break... LOL. So I'm hoping the tank comes delivered intact Monday. Now I have to wait for the new stand.

Sucks to hear the bad experiences from other peeps! I want to say package destination will have a great impact on delivery. I'm in SoCal, ordered my tank and was delivered within 4 business days. The only issue I had was return pump cover came broken, I contacted IM who happens to be local and they sent me a replacement cover right away!

That's cool. I wish I was close enough to drive there and pick up my stuff!! Lol

I have zero issue with Marine Depot. They've been great about everything.

I ordered from DFS and the first tank was cracked in the back. It was also shipped through UPS. Fortunately, I had a few months so I was in no hurry to get the tank setup. Gave me enough time to read most of this thread lol.

I'll join in...tank came on Friday. Built the stand this weekend.

Waiting on new reefkeeper controller and some more lighting.

Breaking down a 20 high we've had for about a year that has been problems. It honestly was to see if I still had it in me to do this hobby. Did great till we moved into our new home and that sent it on a downward spiral. Most things are doing ok. Stupid gsp grew over and killed a lot but I should have expected that.

As far as this tank goes...going full led and your basic Berlin style setup : kalk top off, good skimmer, sand...etc. Livestock will be mostly lps and sps. A few small fish and inverts.

Looking forward to this tank. I like the way it's built but couldn't deal with the price for their stand when I know I can built better.

I'll post more progress in a build thread when I get closer to getting this thing wet.

The stand looks great. I wish I had the time to actually build a stand!! Between work and my kid's sports it's almost impossible!!

Thank you. I love doing stuff like this. Plus I have no kids...so time is a little easier. I prefer wood and most stands are mdf or particle board and that to me is just so weak.

AirwayBill, What are your plans inside stand? I will be building one shortly and taking in everyones ideas. What to build with future growth in mind.

In the side without the shelf, a reservoir for ato and all of my electrical. Controller, power strips, etc. I will probably plumb a reactor down there as well since I hate the way they look hanging on the side of a display, but I need to think on that for head pressure and all. Other side is mainly going to be supply storage. Pretty simple really.

Have you look at the IM mini max for your reactors? They fit right into chambers, those will be my additions. I was planning ato reservoir and dosser in my stand. Looks great and thanks

Yes I did...im trying not to clog all the chambers with stuff. I like the ease of cleaning things.
Thanks.

Tank showed up today. Can't wait to check it out. HOPEFULLY it arrived intact!!! Now to try and find the time to build a stand...

Why did you buy and all in one tank if you don't want to use the chambers on the back as your sump ???
I'll clarify...i plan on having the skimmer and media in the sump chambers. I just don't want things in ALL the chambers. Mainly want the volume of water. I'll be doing a more detail post eventually and that will show things better.

Damn that sucks!
I got the IM stand in white and I'm lucky it all came good with no damage but I did have a missing part which was a wood dowel that holds the back piece in place. Didn't want to wait so tried to find one at Homedepot and lowes but both didn't have same size. End up cutting a wood rod to length with same width and it kinda worked.
I'm having issues with the latch rod that pushes the door open. It's always getting stuck and I have barely enough of door sticking out in open position to pull door open to access. Do you have same issues?
