Hey! where do you get those t5 fixtures and how did you attach?

My two year old 40 IM.

Chamber 1, IM media basket with purigen, matrix, filter floss.

Chamber 2, midsize IM media redia with carbon.

Chamber 3, stock pump but have eheim +2000 waiting in reserve. Tunze 3055 ato, eheim heater.

Chamber 4, Midsize IM Skimmate. Skimmates still running strong. Looking to upgrade at some point but nothing stands out but the aquamaxx hob which i would have to move the tank forward to make fit.

Chamber 5, phosban reactor 150 return and pump. Used to be a ruge chamber with chaeto but i wanted to do GFO with the phosban so i added my CPR small.

Good looking out!! Definitely going to try that, I want to give filter socks a chance. Do you run chemi pure inside the socks?

Not in the sock but i do have it just in the 2nd chamber in the bag (CP Elite) along with purigen

I'm gonna try that for a while! Bought a set of socks with my tank which arrived today, and it came with filter socks as well, no caddy's. So that worked out well, stock baskets would of been useless

I'm gonna try that for a while! Bought a set of socks with my tank which arrived today, and it came with filter socks as well, no caddy's. So that worked out well, stock baskets would of been useless

Yea let me know how you like them. I usually buy polyfiber pads in bulk then I cut out to fit top of sock, Then when I notice it's getting dirty I just toss some new ones on, usually each week. Something like these...

Then like I said, wash/switch out socks every other week, sometimes each week also, just depends on my feeding that week etc. I am also running a eheim 2000+ return pump with a korilia 425, and sicce nano voyager which I believe is 250ish gph range. So a good amount of flow helps.

So I got my tank in earlier this week, I finally had time today to set it on the stand. The one thing that caught my eye right away in the overflows, the extremely short acrylic drip overhang. Has anyone modified it to get it to spill over closer to the center of the chamber?

I thought the same thing but it pours out just right in my opinion once water is runnning

Is upgrading the return pump to the sicce 2.0 beneficial? Sounds like it's a very tight fit, but other than that any negative issues

I use dual socks in my tank with a polyfiber pad on top of each sock, I switch poly weekly and filter socks bi weekly. Polishes water nicely

Haha sorry should've clarified, I have 4 socks total, 2 are in tank and 2 get washed in hot water in washing machine, then switch, repeat...

Fixtures are from BRS. I got the 2x 24. It comes with two fixtures. I made my own fixture with finished wood i found at a hardware store.

I used to wash mine in the washing machine too. Works great!!

Just bought the IM Hydrofil 5 gallon glass water reservoir. Wow... really nice. You pull out a tray to fill it with water, it fits right into the IM 40 stand. And has a little red float ball to show you the water height, even if it is dark. REALLY NICE.
