Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Anyone that is running the AquaMaxx HOB-1 have a picture of their tank, trying to decide if it looks too bulky and go with Tunze 9004 instead. Assuming going with the AquaMaxx would give more flexibility in the back though?

You are quite accident prone. I wouldn't want to be your insurance agent...

I would like to be my visa card agent though!! Took our daughter over to World of Wings over in NJ, pretty cool.

I should have everything in place before we leave on the 3rd...will continue dosing ESV two part!

WWC...top notch..pretty impress with them! love the new additions

I heard good things about that place. Butterfly museum right?
Never ordered from wwc. good to know though.

Yay, more snow! Shoot me now...

Hey Reduck, how is the shadowing effect on your Radion? Also do you think the xr15 pro is a good choice our should i go for the xr30 pro?

I have mine about 8" over surface due to self imposed restrictions. And I keep the top screen on all the time which helps blending. I don't notice shadowing at all from the leds. I see a nice pretty even blend on the bed. Only shadows I see are from the screen.

X15 is working for some people. Depends on what you are planning to stock.
x30, especially the pro, should have plenty of output for whatever you stock.
Run that puppy at 100% and you'll go blind...

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Reduck :) I will pull the trigger today and order the xr30 pro.

You won't be disappointed! I am still waiting for ecotech to get upgrade kits so I can go to pro too....color is much, much better and higher output can't hurt either!

ya I was very impressed with the output and the color. For me the deal breaker for kessil is the heavy shadowing. Saw alot of pics and vids showing coral damage from shadowing. The shimmer is very nice, but I think the livestock will appreciate the radion more.

I actually feel the Kessil has better color output, due to the way they blend it. Again, if you were able to move it up higher, you'd get a better blend at the bed with less shadowing. But then you'd need more power and more source light which would mean multiple kessils...so the radion x30 fit the bill for both. X15 would probably work ok in a softy or FO tank...or even some SPS at higher power levels...
For me, I got a great deal on the x30 g1 so I jumped all over it...bit now I play the waiting game on upgrades...

I did see people move the kessil up higher, but just like you said, need to have 2 units now. the drop in par is way to much. That puts the price over the xr30 pro, making me go with radion. I already learned my lesson the hard way, this is my 2nd light and i just started. I am glad it happened, it taught me to go big lol.

Excellent choice. I have throughly enjoyed my Gen3s... I do like the shimmer of the kessil, but with the additional lense of a radion and spread.. I went with the gen3 and have never looked back. My sps have grown fast and overall a solid fixture

We complain about the price too.. But it's worth it. Strong light.. My lighting schedule goes only up to 65 % for 18k and only 55% for 14k... Start everything on the bottom and slowly move the coral up

Yep we learn from our mistakes and others mistakes. I went through THREE leds before the Radion! I'm stubborn...and I paid for it..dearly.

To quote that great philosopher J Knoxville,; "if you're going to be dumb, you better be tough" or financially secure...the latter helps more in this hobby...:headwally:

So to all the other new readers, please listen when we tell you these things. We are not being argumentative, or trying to be show offs, we are speaking from experience. We are all still learning. We may be wrong at times too. This hobby changes fast and it's tough keeping up with advancements.

Steps down from soapbox...

Well said. Could this count as marriage advice as well?

Haha...my wife was getting into yesterday, opening the package up from WWC and floating the corals for me.

I love being able to turn off my radions and ato from school :)

Mine too. She has her own scolys. Every weekend we feed the tank together. She gets a kick out of watching them eat..
And she goes to pick out corals and fish on occasion...she's been begging me to replace the harliquin shrimp. She loved that thing. She just wanted nothing to do with the dissection of the cc star to feed him...

Yes, it is quite cool to remote to your tank. While on vacation I had a feeding schedule preprogrammed, but I would occasionally chuck an extra cycle in just because...
