Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40

Yep that's they way it works. Complain to support and it fixes it. I was just about to give up on the ghost, then it just started working. After I called IM. They do take a while to break in so I would say you hit that point.

Today's issue in my tank, my oldest MP10 is falling off the glass every feed cycle. I think the magnet is going. It's 6 years old. I still emailed support to see if they have any ideas. I'll probably just end up buying a new dry side and spare wet side. It's never dull....ever...

Had to install the fans on my tank.. With the addition of the UV Light, the tank started getting ~81 degrees during the day.. I'm surprised how well the fans work though.. After about 30 minutes with fans running tank went from 81.2 to 79.5

You're right - it's always something! That's pretty impressive that those pumps work basically non-stop for six years. And speaking of pumps, I noticed over on the Neptune Systems board that a bunch of those guys are going absolutely nuts about the WAV pumps not being available yet. I'm glad you guys recommended just going with the MP10s when I was getting ready to buy a powerhead. :)

Well the issue with my tank was definitely a bacterial bloom that wouldn't go away.. Got up this morning and couldn't really tell cause the lights were out, but right now under about 30% lighting the tank is almost crystal clear.

beautiful > its great when stuff works.
Might be a good time for carbon if you are not already using it? Just for a couple days to soak up the yuk...

Joining the fusion 40 club. [emoji3] Question I had a Kessil A150 on my old system. Should I a getting a new light? Kessil A360 or something else? Keeping SPS mostly. Thoughts?

I would upgrade. The 40 is a pretty deep tank and you want the spread. I have not used Kessil, but that is what I have heard. A lot of us are running the radions G3 and G3pro...no one is complaining about them except when the visa bill came!

Welcome and beautiful city..have enjoyed my time over there with Makers :)

A150 will not be enough in the fusion 40 for SPS. The A360 Will do SPS but will probably end up with shadowing on the sides.

Welcome! There are a few people that are running the A360 on this tank quite successfully. Most are not SPS farmers though..

You might get by with 2x150s, but I think you'd want to do more than "get by."
I'd move up to the A360. You could always add a second if you need it.
Or call it a day and get a Radion X30.. ;)

Amazing the change 24 hours can do with this thing.
The first picture was taken yesterday right before starting. The last 2 were this afternoon

Thought I'd share a tank photo. The algae has diminished from the rock for the most part ... still on the sand though, but it has definitely browned and I hope that means it's on the way out! GSP growing well on the back wall too!

Yep uv does amazing work. I had one in my 12g freshwater for years. As long as you keep the bulb clean and change it once a year it can last a lifetime.
The only downside I found was with my pond uv. It gets warm. Then snakes sleep on it...I hate snakes...open the skimmer and there they sit...

Count me in that camp (thus far). Relatively new tank, and recently returned to the hobby after a long time away so I'm learning from these guys as much as possible. I have to say that I'm *exceptionally* pleased with the Kessil 360. With the gooseneck placed so that the light is about seven inches above the water line, I find that the coverage the 360 provides is just a perfect match for the dimensions of the Fusion 40. Really just don't have anything but positive feedback about the Kessil so far. But as Reduck mentioned, you really can't go wrong with either the Kessil 360 or the Radion Gen3.

WOW! That truly is an amazing difference. Honestly would not have expected the UV to be so effective so quickly but it certainly did the trick!

Yea it shocked me too.. I am happy with the purchase needless to say.

Only have 1 more purchase in mind for this tank right now (other than coral). I am debating selling my Neptune DOS and going with a Calcium Reactor instead. The amount of ESV B-Ionic my Tank is using per 24 hours means it will only last me about 40-45 days, which will come out to about $300-$400 a year.. When a Calcium Reactor setup is ~400 and enough media/CO2 to last a year in a tank this size for about $30.

Consider using BRS bulk 2part? Even as premeasured it's cheaper than the liquid additives. I have 2-3 one gallon kits you can have....they are just taking up room in the closet..

Where would you put it. [emoji3]
There would be a lot of plumbing.
I use the Balling method on my smaller reef tanks and the high quality chemicals mean I don't go they as much of it. I had a calcium reactor when I had a basement an had the room for all the assorted parts. But now I don't in our Patio home an the this is the reason I have a fusion 40.

Someone killed frank's cousin. Currently doing interrogations.. I don't feel that my brittle star did it or my emeral crabs. No clue, have some algae for him and water is perfect and no changes
